Brickbat: How Obscene

An officer with London's Metropolitan Police Service has admitted ordering pay-TV porn while at the home of a family whose child had died. Avi Maharaj was on duty and waiting for an undertaker to arrive when he made the purchase. The Independent Office for Police Conduct found evidence he may have falsified his attendance log to hide his purchase. Maharaj has pleaded guilty to fraud. He remains employed by the police department but on restricted duty.

He's restricted to free porn.
Would this be a story if he'd ordered something less racy?
On duty and in the presence of a dead kid’s family? He shouldn’t be watching TV, period. But it wouldn’t have made the headlines if he had sat down to watch football (meaning soccer).
I can’t imagine what the dead child’s parents must have thought, however, knowing that the cop waiting in their home was a real wanker— in the literal sense of the word at that moment.
In his defense, as a British policeman, since he didn't tweet about it using language that would cause offense and since it wasn't caught on CCTV, he had no idea how he could be caught.
In his defense, he explained that he didn't vote for Boris.
What else you gonna do while you're waiting around at work? Seriously, who doesn't do the equivalent?

JFC. I see the Brits aren't any better than we are about firing cops for obvious firing offenses.
Was it child snuff porn?
(Too soon?)
(Too soon?)
Well, they did leave their streaming device unlocked for any criminal to just waltz right in didn't they?
*dons victim-blaming dunce cap, shuffles off to corner*
"He remains employed by the police department but on restricted duty."
I guess he didn't follow all policies and procedures in ordering porn at the home of a dead child.

He’s just trying to assimilate.
