Brickbat: Don't You See?

Holland Kendall just wants to help homeless people see better. The Kentucky Board of Optometric Examiners and the Kentucky Board of Ophthalmic Dispensers say his philanthropy is illegal. Holland started a ministry that dispenses used eyeglasses to the poor back in 2003. A person's vision is measured, and then a computer program determines which glasses that have been donated to the ministry have a matching prescription. But state officials sent Kendall a letter saying "It would be a violation of law if eyeglasses provided are not new, first quality and made to meet the individual's personal prescriptions."

Unless you are using government to protect your business. Then "you gotta do what you gotta do" rules the day.
They're stalling as they determine if the environment is such that their power could be stripped by public outcry or if they can still just tell everyone to shut the fuck up and bend the fucking knee.
Well put Fist. That fairly sums it up.
It’s bizarre how idiots rail against “capitalism” because of how “greedy businessmen only care about taking people’s money,” and they trust the government’s oh so pure motivations. Yet, how often is it that government bodies put a stop to “greedy businessmen” like this eye doctor practicing charity? Supermarkets giving away leftover food, restaurants fixing free sandwiches, people building tiny houses for the homeless—all of that private charity will land you in hot water with the official bastards. Screw the officials and screw the dumb as rocks anti-capitalists.
But anti-capitalists do not believe in the power of competition. And they sure as hell do not want any competition for government programs (and control).
"It’s bizarre how idiots rail against “capitalism” because of how"
And almost everything they rail about as so called "market failures" are actually direct and predictable consequences of past government meddling in the market. Government failures not market failures, but even when you point them out, their answer is still more government.
"Market failure" is one of those phrases that immediately sets off my BS alarm. Whenever I hear someone complaining about market failure, closer examination almost always reveals that the only thing the market has failed to do is to deliver their preferred outcome.
The Kentucky Board of Optometric Examiners and the Kentucky Board of Ophthalmic Dispensers - are those boards anything like the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners? Basically the state giving a license to an industry to operate their own governing system/protection racket. How this is any different from the old days when the sovereign granted charters to various companies to operate monopolies is beyond me.
I sea.
It is difficult to argue with the impeccable logic of the state, but since it took them from 2003 to 2019 to find this miscreant, I suspect if he just files an appeal, he will be retired before they get around to responding.
Root cause analysis: this is an individual doing good things well for free, not the government doing what should be good things so poorly and so expensively as to be useless. But the government is a group effort, therefore better by definition than an individual. The individual must be stopped at all costs.
Vote for democrats; just a little bit more funding and all will be well.
Without the government who would deny eyeglasses to the poor?
"It would be a violation of law if eyeglasses provided are not new, first quality and made to meet the individual's personal prescriptions."
Those old eyeglasses could be out of fashion!!
“It would be a violation of law if eyeglasses provided are not new, first quality and made to meet the individual’s personal prescriptions.”
When does "new" run out? Are "new" glasses still new after 10 years?
one year?
One month?
One minute?
Like a "new" car, do they stop being new immediately?
The world wonders - - - - - -
To take your baby home from the hospital, b you must have a car seat new within five years...
What if you don't have a car?
“I was walking down the street wearing glasses when the prescription ran out...couldn’t see a thing”

Can't you see? Can't you see? What that Board of Optometric Examiners been doin to me
Eyeglasses and hearing aids are over the top expensive, and there are many people who could use them, but can't afford to get them new. By donating those items that you are no longer utilizing https://www.ukassignment.co.uk/law-assignment-writing-service, you are helping others contributing to an important recycling exertion.
