Holland Kendall just wants to help homeless people see better. The Kentucky Board of Optometric Examiners and the Kentucky Board of Ophthalmic Dispensers say his philanthropy is illegal. Holland started a ministry that dispenses used eyeglasses to the poor back in 2003. A person's vision is measured, and then a computer program determines which glasses that have been donated to the ministry have a matching prescription. But state officials sent Kendall a letter saying "It would be a violation of law if eyeglasses provided are not new, first quality and made to meet the individual's personal prescriptions."

Basically the state giving a license to an industry to operate their own governing system/protection racket. It is difficult to argue with the impeccable logic of the state, but since it took them from 2003 to 2019 to find this miscreant, I suspect if he just files an appeal, he will be retired before they get around to responding.
Root cause analysis: this is an individual doing good things well for free, not the government doing what should be good things so poorly and so expensively as to be useless. But the government is a group effort, therefore better by definition than an individual. The individual must be stopped at all costs.
Vote for democrats; just a little bit more funding and all will be well.
