Brickbat: The Most Superlative

In Virginia, Taryn Price says her son, Azavier, 11, was hurt and embarrassed when his teacher at Brookneal Elementary School presented him an award on the last day of fifth grade for the student most likely to stay in the school forever. She says the boy has autism and has been bullied in the past. In a statement, Campbell County Schools said in a statement the award was "given in good faith" and "not intended to demean or disparage the student; However, we recognize it was received in this manner. We sincerely regret any hurt this has caused the student or his family, and will take steps to prevent any incidents of this type in the future."

Yes! The same kind of thing is going to happen any day now with Tulpa and Reasonoid comments!
Tulpa will award us all a "Grand Prize for Never-Ever Being Anywhere Near as Smart and Cool as Tulpa".
Then (here is the part where I am dreaming) Tulpa will say that the award was "given in good faith" and "not intended to demean or disparage anyone; However, Tulpa the Magnificent recognizes it was received in this manner. We (Tulpa the Magnificent plus His Numerous Head Voices) sincerely regret any hurt this has caused the Reasonoid commentariot, and will take steps to prevent any incidents of this type in the future."
Jesus Christ, you need to see someone to get over your issues with me. It's reached the level where everyone can clearly see you're unhinged.
Says the most empty-headed troll I have ever had sicken my stomach... Head empty of all but self-serving, vacuous insults, that is!

The Avalanches - 'Frontier Psychiatrist'
Why would you want to be a teacher if you don't get to make fun of 11 year old retards?
Ha!
Indeed in academia the highest achievement one can attain is to remain forever in academia.
Nailed it.
How old is the teacher? And here she is, still stuck in the fifth grade.
Why the fuck is this 11 year old with autism in a “regular” school? They need to send all of these special kids that are so fucking fragile to the school for the mentally handicapped kids. Don’t send the to school with my kids - my kids weren’t taking super powerful psychotropic drugs when they were 6 because they couldn’t sit still, and they don’t get bent out of shape when something as fucking stupid as this happens.
But "he has autism" isn't quite as useful as its often described. The range of autism goes from mild to wild, and so many folks do not care to distinguish. It could almost be an excuse for his poor behavior or bad grades.
I suspect about half the commentors here at Latest, formerly known as Hit and Run, have some degree of autism.
The old joke is that we wouldn't have the Internet as it is today without Aspberger's.
Because this 11 year old pays the same taxes as you. If you want to be free from the autistic, handicapped, foreigners, and mud people, Georgetown Prep and similar await your tuition dollars.
"Because this 11 year old pays the same taxes as you"
How the fuck do you know that, and it doesn't make sense anyway.
"If you want to be free from the autistic, handicapped, foreigners, and mud people"
By the way, I love how you jump on your high horse and start tossing around moronic accusations of racism to defend your broken ass brat who uses WAY MORE IN RESOURCES than a normal kid. You need to be paying way more in taxes to offset or else your aspie retard is using resources other kids parents pay for.
If an 11 year old autistic kid owns property that’s impressive.
"and will take steps to prevent any incidents of this type in the future."
Said steps will not, however, include disciplining the teacher for child abuse. Hateful words are violence.
This the same day an autistic boy in Gary, IN was given an "award" for being the "Most Annoying Male" in the class
In high school, I was voted “most likely to secede” due to my railing against authority and statism.
An enviable accolade
I was voted most likely to take hostages,
Does anybody remember when social and legal discrimination made teaching one of the few acceptable careers for intelligent and competent women? Those were the days.
Shut up idiot.
Why do you clutter up our discussions, thread-shitter?
"It’s reached the level where everyone can clearly see you’re unhinged." (Words of great genius, just sent to the wrong target, when recently written).
So he's going to grow up and become a professor and never once in his life see outside the walls of a schoolhouse? Isn't that the entire academic left?
I'm sure you would find a very high incidence of autism spectrum disorders in the academic left.

Is that award just a Pelosi clap for him just showing up?
It's great that your here kid, but you will always be. Bravo to you.
I am genuinely surprised that a teacher gave a "teasing" award to a kid she knew was autistic.
More generally, it seems like a bad idea for teachers to taunt 11 year olds.
When he shoots up his high school, she'll still be safely at the elementary school.
