The Boston Police Department has opened an investigation of a cop who had his service weapon stolen by two strippers while off duty in Rhode Island. The cop, whose name wasn't released because he is considered the victim, was placed on paid administrative leave. He reportedly met one of the women on Instagram. Melissa Dacier and Neish Rivera were charged with felony larceny of a firearm and conspiracy.

Pawtucket police Detective Sgt. Christopher Lefort said today the gun was anonymously dropped off at a fire station on Hartford Avenue in Providence.

By the strippers. Who were arrested for stealing his gun. Which had been locked in his car with the key in the cupholder. Where any random passer-by could have stolen the gun. But we know it was the strippers.

You usually don't have to try stealing a cop's gun for the cop to accuse of "reaching for" his weapon. It's one of the procedural plays they make before "stop resisting".
