Brickbat: If at First You Don't Succeed

A Lethbridge, Alberta, police officer is under investigation after being caught on video repeatedly running over an injured deer with a police truck. The officer responded to a call of an injured animal in the street and decided the deer needed to be euthanized. Police Chief Rob Davis says officers typically shoot animals that need to be euthanized.

I'm just glad it wasn't sodomized considering this is Canada.
He would have shot it if it was someone's pet.
Maybe he was low on ammo. Or maybe he shoots like the NYPD and just couldn't hit it.
A big part of the accuracy problem is the trigger pull is high around 11 to 12 pounds pressure.
Oh deer!
That we my first thought. Too late.

Well, one less reason for an officer to fire his weapon. Shouldn't anti-gun people be happy at his alternative method?
The disarmament lobby wants cops, Customs, IRS, ICE, etc. shooting kids, hippies, deer and dogs. What they are against is American privately-owned firearms and defenses capable of stopping incoming nuclear missiles.
The police police department there probably requires a bunch of paperwork when discharging your firearms, so this was an alternative.
As far as death goes, being run over and killed is not necessarily worse than being eaten alive by carnivores after breaking a leg or otherwise being unable to escape a predator.
Humans have wacky thoughts on what is 'cruel' for animals, while simultaneously being cruel to other humans.
Socialism is one of the cruelest systems ever devised by humans.
Nope, the statism and collectivism you lust for is, slaver.
OMFG the lengths you go to justify this act of barbarity.
'oh, there's just too much paperwork to euthanize the animal humanely and, really, its not worse than leaving it there, so its ok to run it over, over and over'.
WTF man. Shoot it, cut its throat, or leave it.
Punching you square in the face would not be necessarily worse than being eaten alive (or subjected to socialism!) therefore it is fine to do.
I'd advise you to just shut your mouth once in a while, but a) we all know you can't do that and b) you make a mockery of collectivism every time you do. Talk about own-goals.
Oh, deer!
(Can't believe no one thought of that yet.)

And two hours earlier!
I don't think so.
Disgraceful and disgusting!!! Talk about police brutality!
can't unpicture that, gracias.
It's an unexpected method of euthanizing the animal but it seems like it would be effective. Assuming he didn't cause damage to his vehicle, I don't have a problem with this.
Really? Then what is wrong with you?
It worked for euthanizing sightseers in Nice on Bastille Day.

Don't give the American cops ideas!
I was riding my bicycle to work one cold, dark, December morning, (well below freezing) and I saw some cars up ahead hitting their brakes. As I got to the point of the braking, I saw a deer standing at the side of the road, seemingly frozen in place. I think I could have reached over and touched it, but I just noted it and kept on going. Almost immediately after I pass it, I see flashing lights and a police car had pulled up to it. The next thing i heard was a bang as the officer must have decided to eliminate the hazard. I was quite pleased with this. Apparently, in Iowa, we know how to kill deer. Just sayin'.
See? If politics is dominated by the initiation of force as Job One, the political parties that pander to that policy directive (and the goons they hire) tend to do and believe what they are paid to do and believe. For Democrats and Republicans that translates into: if it's brown, kill it.
