"Paul Makonda, governor of Tanzania's largest city, Dar es Salaam, has asked residents to report gay people to him. Makonda has vowed mass arrests of "homosexuals in our city.""

I put it at 50/50 that Govrnor Makonda is gay as fuck.

    1. This Machine Chips Fascists   7 years ago

**Makonda reportedly rounded up sex workers and gay men and performed "forced anal exams,"**

      Signs point to yes.

    2. Agammamon   7 years ago

'Report gays to me - I'm desperate for a hookup on Saturday night.'

  2. Fist of Etiquette   7 years ago

Makonda also warned international organizations and other countries not to interfere, saying Tanzania has its own "norms."

Keep up the foreign aid, though. Other countries like the United States can still continue the interference in Tanzania's economy by sending millions in aid.

  3. DiegoF   7 years ago

I logged on here to ridicule Paul Makonda for being too ugly to find his strange the old-fashioned way; the odds were certainly with me given most politicians. Turns out I was wrong. Come on Paul you can do better! So sad to see even powerful men have such poor self-esteem; I blame feminism.

    1. DiegoF   7 years ago

(...As I do for the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Stop blaming the Jews, Internet! It makes you look cuckoo.)

    2. Jerryskids   7 years ago

      Is his wife a Wookie?

      1. Eddy   7 years ago

        Judge for yourself

        1. DiegoF   7 years ago

Whatever the facial merits, he is the most disgraceful gay in history for letting his wife go out with hair like that. Has he no pride?

        2. Eddy   7 years ago

Contrary to initial reports, his wife isn't named Sheena.

        3. gaoxiaen   7 years ago

          Would.

      2. DiegoF   7 years ago

I sometimes feel bad for ol' Michelle! Not a single "would" in the entire history of the absurdly oversexed and freaky HnR squad. Not even from STEVE SMITH.

        1. Eddy   7 years ago

Well, that's OK, they shouldn't want to have sex with another man's wife anyway.

        2. gaoxiaen   7 years ago

          Okay. Would.

          1. Fuck you, Shikha (Nunya)   7 years ago

I suddenly made her hotter knowing no one else was interested. And then you ruined it for me.

        3. Fuck you, Shikha (Nunya)   7 years ago

There's a game. Which first lady. I'll start.

          Barbara Bush or Michelle Obama?

          1. BigT   7 years ago

Babs at least can't bite you. Can I cuff the Wookie?

          2. DiegoF   7 years ago

Young Babs could have been an interesting experience if she ditched the dye, as her hair had gone naturally silver by college. (McCain was another freak in that respect.) Would have been like schtupping an anime character.

          3. Tom Bombadil   7 years ago

Interesting game. The only way to win is not to play.

            1. DiegoF   7 years ago

              Pussy.

              1. Tom Bombadil   7 years ago

In this case, ixnay on the ussypay.

            2. Fuck you, Shikha (Nunya)   7 years ago

Would you prefer nude chess with Eleanor Roosevelt?

  4. Ordinary Person   7 years ago

You can bet American evangelicals are playing some type of role in this.

    1. Mickey Rat   7 years ago

The name of the city should give you a clue as to what sort of fundamentalists are involved here.

      1. DiegoF   7 years ago

Salaam means "peace," and one of Tanzania's constituent nations, Zanzibar, was indeed once the only Arabic-speaking country in black Africa. So I am guessing Arabic-speaking members of the Peace Churches--Mennonites; Amish; possibly Quakers.

        1. Seamus   7 years ago

A lot of those Arab-speaking Sudanese look black to me. And what about Somalia, whose official languages are Arabic and Somali? Are the Somalis all just very suntanned Arabs?

    2. Fancylad   7 years ago

I'll take that bet bigot. Now where's your cite?

  5. Old Mexican - Mostly Harmless   7 years ago

Makonda has vowed mass arrests of "homosexuals in our city."

Making Dar es Salaam Great Again.

    1. gaoxiaen   7 years ago

      Move to Liberia already.

    2. This Machine Chips Fascists   7 years ago

Wait until he sees the LGBTQI caravan closing on the border.

  6. Quo Usque Tandem   7 years ago

Grant these people asylum to the US immediately; they may then join the ranks of any and all persons who believe they are being mistreated here and vote straight Democrat in the belief that the right mother government will solve their problems.

Is there a pun in there?

  7. John   7 years ago

I am sure this guy and all of the people who voted for him would suddenly become "gay affirming" if only they were granted residence in the United States and access to the magic dirt in the US.

  8. Juice   7 years ago

    Makonda forever.

  9. Eddy   7 years ago

I think this stuff illustrates the difference between an institutionally-corrupt self-styled morals police (complete with forced anal exams!) and a government which simply lets you decide who to bake cakes for.

Under modern dogma, the two kinds of regimes are morally equivalent.

  10. loveconstitution1789   7 years ago

You mean Africans are bigots too?

  11. Inigo Montoya   7 years ago

Sounds like Makonda is himself super-gay but doing his best to put a hetero face on things. Otherwise why all the bigotry now, in the 21st-century?

He is so deeply in the closet, he's liable to bump his shins on an unauthorized email server.

  12. crufus   7 years ago

You can be sure that people in Dar es Salaam will not jump at the chance to report people as gay just because they don't like them or they owe them a lot of money.
