Brickbat: Axel Foley Would Have Checked on the Dog

A Detroit police officer, who wasn't named by media, has been reassigned and may face discipline after his K-9 partner died after being left in a patrol car on a warm day. The car's heat alarm system failed, but Commander Darin Szilagy said the officer should have been checking on the dog every 30 minutes.

Sometimes the dog-killing instinct is just too overwhelming, especially among Detroit police.
Citizen kills police dog: Charged with murdering a police officer.
Cop kills police dog: Reassigned.
All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.
Yeah. I was coming in to comment: "So now he's going to be charged with killing a police officer, right?"
Pigfuckers.
Let's not bicker over who killed who. What's important is that K9 Officer Vito gets the state funeral that he earned with his heroic sacrifice.
Will they wear a badge with a picture of a milk bone with a black slash through it?
Axel Foley would be more interested in checking in on Jenny Summers.
Szilagy says the officer had rigorously trained with the dog and has been "distraught" over the death.
The officer is the real victim here.
One thing I learned from watching movies and TV shows is that a cop partnership is a stronger bond than marriage, than the parent-child relationship, or a decades-long friendship.
How do you simply let your partner die of heatstroke?
Foley's boss in Detroit would have beat that cop's ass. Too bad police captains in general aren't foul mouthed, no nonsense, hard ass pricks like they are in the movies.
No animal cruelty charges?
Cops killing even their own dogs.
I wouldn't want to be that cop's partner...
