Code enforcement in Rockland, Maine, has threatened Susan Reitman with up to $1,000 a day in fines if she doesn't remove two pro-Donald Trump banners from the gate to her home. City ordinances say residential signs can be no more than two square feet. Her signs are three feet by two feet.

When I first saw the Brickbat I just read "2 square feet" as "2 x 2". My second comment was me realizing that 2 x 2 would be 4 square feet. Hence the profanity, raging at the unfairness of it all, *possibly* a few tears which I won't mention, etc.

Nobody's going to mention Trump's wrapping himself in the flag with that yuge banner at Mar-a-Lago that violated the sign ordinance? It may be a stupid law, but that's what you get for living in a community where community values are strictly enforced by the community busy-bodies. And I'd be willing to bet this lady's done her share of sticking her nose in other people's business. Let's see her neighbor exercise his freedom of speech by installing a display of broken-down appliances on his front lawn and see how fast her ideas about free speech change.
