...and now the kid's family is demanding more training for police in dealing with people with autism.

Police going through those motions are pretty much the most you can hope for.

    1. Conchfritters   8 years ago

If their training consisted of watching Law and Order reruns like the Afghan police, maybe everything would be different.

Facebook says they'll release the contents of 3,000 ads bought by a Russian agency to Congressional investigators looking into the country's alleged meddling in the 2016 election.

I feel like we're eventually going to lower the threshold of "meddling" to "Someone in Russia disagree with Hillary." But once we do that, we've fucking got him boys.

    1. Half-Virtue, Half-Vice   8 years ago

How angry do expect team blue to be when they find out all 3,000 ads simply read, "Vote Trump"?

Even though millions of American advertisements said the same, these will be the 3,000 ones that did it. Surly.

Married high school art teacher, 25, 'had sex with four of her teenage students, including two she took back to her apartment on the same day'

The probe at Marked Tree High School was sparked by a parent who accused Goline of having sexual liaisons with several students.

Staff stepped in when the parent then threatened to 'do bodily harm' to one of the teachers, ArkansasOnline reported.

The alleged victims then came forward and told police about their illicit relationships with Goline, police say.

One told investigators she came onto him during class, telling him 'how good he looked.' He said she also sent him a photo of her in a thong.

According to authorities, another said Goline picked him up and took him to her apartment in the afternoon.

They allegedly had sex, and she dropped him back at Marked Tree High School later that day.

He told investigators another classmate was at her apartment later that night.

All four of the students had started texting with the art teacher, and said the exchanges became more sexually charged over time.

    1. Crusty Juggler - Lawbertarian   8 years ago

She is facing only one count of sexual assault because only one of the four students she allegedly slept with was under 18.

Goline claimed that the underage teen lied about his age.
She told school officials she found out after they had sex that he was 'way younger than what he had told her,' according to court documents.

Inland Empire teacher arrested on suspicion of unlawful sex with student

A Beaumont Unified School District English teacher has been arrested on suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse and oral copulation with one of her students after detectives discovered evidence that the woman had an improper relationship with the minor for several months, authorities say.

Beaumont police detectives began investigating the alleged sexual abuse after receiving a tip.

"During the investigation the victim recently disclosed to detectives there has been unlawful sexual intercourse occurring for the past few months by a teacher who works at the Beaumont High School," investigators said in a statement,

Detectives said they gathered evidence of "inappropriate communications between the teacher and student through various messaging platforms."

Off-duty NYPD sergeant cuffed for threatening cyclist with gun, shoving him off bike

One bike rider told police the argument started after Beamer made an illegal U-turn in his vehicle and nearly hit him.

The 12-year veteran pulled his gun and waved it in the cyclist's face, according to cops. He then shoved the victim so hard he knocked him off his bike, police said.

High school teacher 'stole $30,000 from her students' homecoming dance fund and blew every cent on penny slots'

A Detroit high school teacher is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from student events and spending it all at a casino.

Lydia Johnson, a Spanish teacher at Dakota High School, was charged with one count of embezzlement from a nonprofit organization after authorities say she stole $30,000 to play on penny slots at MGM Grand Detroit casino.

Johnson, 29, had been entrusted to coordinate the high school's homecoming dance as well as a camping trip.

I don't buy it. It would take so long to use 3,000,000 pennies on just penny slots. What's the most you can spend at once? Like 25 cents?

      1. Crusty Juggler - Lawbertarian   8 years ago

If she is making a max bet on a multi pay line machine, she could easily be spending close to 50 cents a spin, which quickly adds up.

Seriously, at this point how unaware do you have to be about potentially encountering people with autism?

Are cops professionals or not? Or do they just want to rough up or kill (deaf, mentally challenged etc.) people who don't heed to their commands?

This is why I can't stand BLM and all its dumb cohorts. They set back potential traction on police reform probably for years to come.

    1. BestUsedCarSales   8 years ago

Exactly what we needed in the immigration debate: A congressman comparing deportation to the Holocaust

"And if you ask yourself what would I do if I was a gentile in 1941, if my Jewish neighbors were under attack by ? by the Nazis? Would I give them sanctuary? You might be about to find out what you would do. Would you pass that moral test or will you fail it? This is the time for people who truly have faith and belief in their hearts to step up and demonstrate," he added.

    Spot on.

Trump's 'America First' vow turned upside down in lumber market

In a move intended to protect the domestic lumber industry, the U.S. this year slapped duties of as much as 31 per cent on imports of timber from Canada, which supplies more than a quarter of what American builders use each year. Prices surged, increasing costs for American buyers -- and boosting profit for Canadian producers.

Fun fact: protectionism, much like good, is dumb.

    1. BestUsedCarSales   8 years ago

The key is to let the American's actually log more lumber. Easy mistake to make.

    Not a Regular Cease-and-Desist, A Cool Cease-and-Desist

Netflix was applauded because its legal team, or perhaps its marketing department, peppered its cease-and-desist letter with several knowing references to the program ("Look, I don't want you to think I'm a total wastoid ? ") and?even more strangely for the form?what seemed like actual politeness. "You're obviously creative types, so I'm sure you can appreciate that it's important to us to have a say in how our fans encounter the worlds we build," a Netflix senior counsel wrote.

    Corporations, man.

This is where the emphasis on authenticity in corporate branding has led to in 2017: Even cease-and-desist letters, traditionally one of the sternest, most threatening forms of interpersonal communication, are being suffused with warmth and, as branding experts like to call it, "voice." Brand-building can happen anywhere: "That's the way companies should be thinking about literally everything they do, and legal is no different than customer service," says Kevin Lane Keller, a professor of marketing at Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business.

Fun fact: I've been in a Doctor Who-themed bar, and even though I did not get any of the references, I was disgusted.

So, I'll just say that my wife and I, who each make low 6-digit salaries, will gladly stuff our money into the expanded HSA provisions in the Republican health care bill. But, it's going to suck for Trumpians on Medicaid who want to get the government off their back.
