St. Louis Protests Persist, Defense Fund for Michael Flynn, Scary Clowns Back in the News: P.M. Links
-
Richard Ulreich/ZUMA Press/Newscom Protests continue in St. Louis following the acquittal of a police officer for killing a black man after a car chase. The Department of Justice says they will not be filing federal civil rights charges against the officer. And eyewitness say they saw police chanting "Whose streets? Our streets?" after breaking up protests.
- Republicans say again they're closing in on votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act via a bill pushed by Sens. Lindsey Graham and Bill Cassidy, though Sen. Rand Paul is not a supporter.
- Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn has started a legal defense fund over the federal investigation of his ties to Russia and the country's alleged attempt to meddle in the presidential election.
- The Navy has fired two more officers over recent fatal ship collisions.
- Scary clown panic is back, this time leading to gunfire and criminal charges. There was an actual scary clown though, a dad who decided to terrify his 6-year-old child as a form of discipline. That seems … counterintuitive … but I've never had kids.
- Activists in the Rohingya Muslim minority group in Myanmar claim that Facebook is removing posts documenting the ethnic cleansing targeting them.
- Below is either the worst or best Congressional campaign ad of the fall. I cannot decide. It is possibly both:

Protests continue in St. Louis following the acquittal of a police officer for killing a black man after a car chase.
I'm beginning to suspect St. Louis might have a problem that needs addressing.
Hello.
I guess I've lost that centrist feeling too.
Wasn't that a Righteous Brothers song?
You lost that centrist feelin'
Whoa, that centrist feelin'
You lost that centrist feelin'
Now it's gone, gone, gone, woh
Right you are! They better remove another statue toot sweet.
And eyewitness say they saw police chanting "Whose streets? Our streets?" after breaking up protests.
Blue lives matter. They can breathe. And so on...
And eyewitness say they saw police chanting "Whose streets? Our streets?" after breaking up protests.
Yeah, well, who are you going to call if you disagree? The cops?
Scary clown panic is back...
Yes!
Police chief says it's okay to beat people up if they dress funny:
The police chief in Paw Paw, W.Va., was less subtle with the anti-clown notices he posted around town.
"If someone sees you dressed like this they have the right to defend themselves," the posters said. "It is not normal for clowns to be running around like idiots all year long. I will stand behind anyone who feels they need to protect themselves from these so-called clowns. So, to sum it all up, if you run around in a clown suit, you should probably expect for citizens to beat you [for their own protection], then get arrested by police."
Hi, I'm ?itizen X, I make stupid fucking assumptions, claim to block people, then carry on conversations with them.
What's the reason for using the 'Ch' sound character in his name there? Are you insinuating he is from Chicago?
That seems ? counterintuitive ? but I've never had kids.
Parenting is hard, Shaquille, and a desperate man will do desperate things. I'm not saying i condone what this guy did... but i understand.
Citizen X disciplines his cats by dressing up as a giant mouse.
Republicans say again they're closing in on votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act via a bill pushed by Sens. Lindsey Graham and Bill Cassidy...
Yuck. I know nothing about their bill, but yuck.
The 14th time's the charm.
The 14th 140th time's the charm.

I picture it like priests tag teaming an alter boy. I swear team red and team blue high five when they switch off.
Barrett told officers that his daughter's mother was in prison for child endangerment after she had stepped on the child and broken several of her ribs, according to the incident report.
Well, at least Mom wasn't wearing a *clown mask*.
That seems ? counterintuitive ? but I've never had kids.
That you know of, Shackford.
Cue Krusty the Clown laugh.
Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn has started a legal defense fund over the federal investigation of his ties to Russia...
Should have had a foundation going this whole time.
Nice!
Lamest. Commercial. Ever.
"I don't want to be named," the witness told The Washington Post on Monday when reached by phone, "but I can tell you it scared the bejeezus out of me."
Good thing Dad wasn't wearing a Hello Kitty mask.
Missouri really takes this Broken Windows Fallacy serious and to heart, eh?
Below is either the worst or best Congressional campaign ad of the fall.
Helmer made himself Goose in that scenario?
No, but if they're true to the movie, Helmer will end up in bed with Comstock.
It is politics, after all.
He called his companion Maverick at the end, so it's confusing.
Holy shit that's awful.
The Navy has fired two more officers over recent fatal ship collisions.
The sailors have usurped their commander-in-chief's catchphrase.
Republicans say again they're closing in on votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act
343rd time's the charm, right?
Godamnit.
The 2,934,398,999,239,441st time's the charm, right????
They've realized they should say "pretty please with sugar on top" this time?
The. Worstest.
Eh, I dont know. At least they weren't pandering to veterans.
Activists in the Rohingya Muslim minority group in Myanmar claim that Facebook is removing posts documenting the ethnic cleansing targeting them.
Ethnic cleansing-cleansing is some next-level shit.
Is that bowel detox AND liver cleanse?
One of Hillary's big "achievements" as Secretary of State was opening up Myanmar. If it turns out, opening up Myanmar and giving Aung San Suu Kyi and Buddhist fanatics power leads to genocide then that doesn't really seem like such a great achievement.
Since no one there voted for her, I doubt she cares.
police chanting "Whose streets? Our streets?" after breaking up protests.
Note that "Our streets?" was chanted as a question as a calming technique.
I have a sneaking suspicion it was "Our streets!" not "Our streets?"
Whose streets?
RUN'S STREETS!
The Navy has fired two more officers over recent fatal ship collisions.
And North Korea has fired two more missiles over Japan.
You had, like, the whole ocean.
Dude... Wheres my destroyer?
Dude... Where's your destroyer?
Felony trials should be by jury. A felony defendant who asks for a trial by judge should be treated like a defendant who demands a trial by combat - "denied."
(I checked the St. Louis story and found the cop was acquitted by a judge. Maybe the cop was guilty and maybe he wasn't, but a judge shouldn't be making that call.
If he opted for a jury trial the D.A. would've just tanked the case. A bench trial allows for a vigorous prosecution to maintain "credibility".
All the more reason to make the D. A. be open in his "tanking."
Why?
People choose trial by judge if they think the judge will be more favorable to them than a jury.
Usually judges are more anti-defendant than juries, so if it's the other way around, there's probably something weird going on. Like a judge worried about his re-election presiding over a closely-watched case where a police union is paying attention to see if it should endorse someone else for judge.
And would be jurors being tired of cops killing people.
Below is either the worst or best Congressional campaign ad of the fall. I cannot decide. It is possibly both:
Since all campaign ads are stupid and treat voters like morons, this IS the worst campaign so far.
Plus, its for a Democrat who needs to let voters know he's a veteran (supposedly). He never mentioned how Democrats are for enslaving you children's children because they will never cut spending nor taxes. That and Democrat FDR put Japanese-Americans in concentration camps.
So..... no PM links today?
Goddammit. I keep doing that.
I hear there's a new product called an "Alarm Clock".
You need the kind Fist uses. It rings 2 minutes before the links go up.

Dear Trump fans on Reason.com:
I've said a lot of bad things about you last year. That you had to be a fucking moron to vote for Trump, that only an idiot couldn't make a distinction between a vote for Clinton and Trump, that most of you were just reactionaries who have weaponized libertarianism to support the same old right-wing bullshit...
I'm sorry. You were right and I was wrong. Trump was the way to go. He's way more fun than Clinton (Zzzzz...) ever would have been and through his bumbling incompetence and normalization of White Power racist fuckheadary he has advanced the quixotic campaign for decency and justice that libertarian socialists everywhere desire to advance. I'm sorry. MAGA, ok?
"What Happened. Hillary Clinton."
Well, that libertarian socialists seek to advance when the moon isn't full, anyway.
I'm in the MAGOG camp, to be honest.
Well, this is odd:

I'm not certain it's that odd.
wonder where he stands on black labs
#Blacklabsmatter!
I don't care what color you are. I'm saving the dog before you.
I'm colorblind like that too. I'm just going to save any dog before any human.
There was an actual scary clown though, a dad who decided to terrify his 6-year-old child as a form of discipline.
and that's why you always leave a note
Geez man, the fuck is going on. Hindus and Buddhists raging on the war path. Western tv brain does not compute, error...
I'm not sure if Scott shared these sections from the story earlier:

"Multi-purpose tool" duh... multi. PURPOSE. tool. He could'a done a multitude of things...
Not sure if the police in question are cowards or just lazy because they know they'll get away with it...
It was like being stalked by Inspector Gadget... That shit is scary!
My penis is often described as a "multi-tool gadget."
And yes it often not extended.

Moment a Nazi wearing a swastika armband is tracked down and beaten in Seattle after 'harassing a black man on a bus'
Fun fact: put your arms up when someone is about to punch you.
How fucking stupid do you have to be to wear a swastika armband in Seattle? That place has become ground zero for American Maoism.
And to then talk your way out of confrontations. At least go down swinging, stupid Nazi who had to know what was coming.
What about the sub-human negro filth who initiated violence?
If he'd have defended himself with his fists, I imagine the whole group of ANTIFA would've crowd stomped him. Now... with a .45... that's a different story.
And now you understand why I carry a .45 everywhere.
By the way, excellent choice, I like my xds in .45 quite a bit
Para-Ordnance P14... Sadly, it fell out of my boat last weekend.
Nobody needs a cartridge that ends with ACP if they've got one that ends in JHP.
He probably figured it's really just 2 sides of the same coin and since the commie kids in places like Berkley engage in fascist tactics it's probably cool. Plus, people wearing Che shirts don't seem to get assaulted, why should he?
Why overlook the pack of pachyderm in the room?
A black guy assaults the white guy. That is interracial violence - something black men are accustomed to doing.
Polite society does not accept blacks being 10 times more likely to commit interracial crimes of violence against whites than the converse.
We often hear that it is time to have a conversation about race. Blacks need to hear that whitey is fed up with nihilistic negro behavior.
Wait, you were actually serious about the "sub-human negro filth" thing?
Go back under your rock, I don't like the way the saliva drips off your mandibles.
Okay, Mr. Multicultural Progressive virtue signaler.
What a loser.
I'm all for freedom of expression and hate violence, but he started it by wearing a swastika and saying racist things. Derp.
"I'm all for freedom of expression and hate violence, but he started it by wearing a swastika and saying racist things. Derp."
My sarcasm meter is a touch off... What are you derping?
That was the gyst of many of the comments in that article
*for the article
Ah, I endorse your use of derp. +1
