Brickbat: The Waiting Is the Hardest Part

The United Kingdom's National Health Service reports that 20 percent of those trying to schedule an appointment with a general practitioner cannot get one within seven days and 11.3 percent cannot get an appointment at all. Meanwhile, 27.8 percent said they had difficulty just reaching a doctor's office on the phone.

The wait list is shorter if people can't get on it. Add on some VA practices and you can get wait times down more.
The Limeys are really dropping the ball. All they have to do is mandate by law that NHS doctors see patients in a timely manner.
I hear that that would require more pixie dust and unicorn farts than are currently available...
So just write some laws that bring more of each into existence. LRN 2 SOCIALIZM!
Stupid results-oriented libertarians.
Don't you understand it's a moral issue?
Rich insurance companies profiting from denial of health care to the sick is immoral!
Denial of health care because of political reasons or incompetent government is not immoral because no rich people profit!
"Denial of health care because of political reasons or incompetent government is not immoral because no rich people profit it just shows that rich people are not paying their fair share!"
FTFY
We all know that the rich don't pay their fair share. They're rich! If the paid their fair share then they wouldn't be rich anymore! So the fact that they are rich is proof that they don't pay their fair share.
Truth ! It took me a minute years ago to finally understand that the point of re-distribution wasn't to bring up the standards of living for the poor, but instead to limit success of those with money. It is a very feudalistic view where only the special "nobility" or the church should have power / money. Only those of pure heart and birth and an extensive list of grievances should prosper. Progressives hate upstarts who build something new or create benefits for humanity if it wasn't built by their church....the church of gov, by the select anointed.
The church of envy.
Exactly. They don't care if they have to wait 3 months to get an aspirin, so long as they know they're ahead in line of some rich guy.
And don't forget: the definition of "rich" is based purely on income levels, not how much wealth one has accumulated. Because money = wealth.
At least this shows that health care truly is a right. (health care delayed is health care denied -- literally, if it's serious)
Good morning, star shine, the Earth says hello!

It worked. I have to take a dump!
I hovered over the link and saw "Pelosi" in it. Will not click. Don't want to barf on my keyboard.
I say this with no sarcasm: Pelosi is the best-looking face in the picture.
The ugliest girl from my high school class would be the best-looking face in the picture.
OMG, the ugly plant just exploded and the residue got all over these poor folks...such a tragedy after that incident at the stupid factory and the occurrence at the immoral/unethical facility...
Pelosi looks Photoshopped in, unless light just refracts differently around the singularity of stupidity that sits at the core of her head.
I barely recognized Martin Scorsese. He must have plucked his eyebrows.
They all look like they fell out of an ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
For those dumb enough to click the link, a little eye cleanser.

You're doing God's work.
Meh. She looks like trailer trash.
It is brilliant that they included an ad to buy the bikini.
Standard procedure for the Daily Mail. When it comes to monetizing celebrity, they pull out all the stops.
Please forward a link to this article to the three federal legislators that represent you.
Then give a deep sigh, because they don't care.
Those in Great Britain can at least die knowing that no insurance companies got rich off their suffering.
Yes but they have single payer health care for the health care they are not getting so its OK

Doesn't actually sound all that different than my HMO.
Criticising the NHS is once again evidence of the anti-science bias of anti-government types. If they just would take the time to understand evolution, they'd realize the NHS is breeding for more healthy people.
Have you seen the typical British person? It's obviously not working.
You got something against pasty skin and crooked teeth?
Big Book of British Smiles
"We Klingons believe as you do. The sick are weak and should die!"
But they are 100% covered!
And that's all that matters!
In Arizona, if you'd like an appointment with a dermatologist - plan on a 6 to 9 month wait. If you have insurance with a narrow network, you'll need to schedule your skin cancer growth about a year in advance.
