The Great Charles Manson Conspiracy
A helter-skelter podcast with The Daily Beast

The Daily Beast just devoted a podcast to Charles Manson, and they had me on to chat about Manson conspiracy theories. This mostly meant we talked about John Todd, a con man who in the '70s started posing as an Illuminati defector and who claimed, among other things, that Manson was raising an Illuminist army behind bars that would soon be rampaging across the country. But we touch on other topics too, from the first American Illuminati scare of the 18th century to the conspiracy theories of Mae Brussell. The full episode is below; my bit starts around the 27-minute mark.

The greatest trick the Illuminati ever pulled was convincing the world they don't exist.
That's just what I would expect an Illuminati to say.
no body expects the Spanish, wait wait...nobody expects the Illuminati! that's better
Have you seen the faux-doc horror film The Manson Family?
Total grindhouse with a run-through of the events and crimes of The Family.
Whenever we notice conspiratards in attendance at libertarian events, a friend and I always start surreptitiously talking about our Illuminati meet, start doing secret handshakes and stuff, just to freak out the tards. Great fun.
just what we'd expect the illuminati to do...
Just what we'd expect an illuminatus to do .....
