Bastiaan Slabbers/ZUMA Press/Newscom A joint statement from leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee declares that they've seen no evidence that Trump Tower was wiretapped during the 2016 election as President Donald Trump has claimed.
- Michael Flynn received more money from Russian-based businesses than had been previously disclosed. Flynn notably resigned as national security adviser after misleading the Trump campaign over his contacts with a Russian ambassador.
- You may have heard that Trump released a budget proposal. It doesn't cut spending, but rather shifts spending from domestic programs to military spending instead. Nick Gillespie breaks it down here.
- An Oklahoma state senator accused of child prostitution charges connected to a 17-year-old boy has surrendered to police. Note some of the awfulness of sex laws here. The age of consent in Oklahoma is 16, but it counts as "child prostitution" if it's with somebody under 18.
- Chelsea Clinton is publishing a children's book titled She Persisted.
- Somebody donated four pounds of marijuana to a Goodwill in Washington State. How charitable!
- So McDonald's got some attention today for this tweet that was pinned to its feed for a little bit this morning before being deleted. They subsequently claimed that their account had been compromised:

Well, of course they're not going to admit it.
Hello.
"Chelsea Clinton is publishing a children's book titled She Persisted.'
Despite all the obstacles in her way. Like being fabulously connected and wealthy for example.
"The little girl screamed for her dolly but the nanny was having none of it. She persisted.
Mummy cursed out the secret service agents for not getting out of her way fast enough. She persisted."
"She was told that she couldn't get millions to give pointless speeches to banking firms or pay-for-play from horrific foreign countries.
But she persisted."
"She Persisted...in Her McCarthyite Smear Campaign"
Despite her weight problems, lack of intelligence, and the fact that the President was a married man, she put on her blue dress and thong, grabbed a box of cigars, and she persisted.
It was then revealed to the world that she ruined the crazy little Jew's campaign that the children loved so dearly. But she persisted.
That's over their clearance level, anyway.
So now that its officially denied then we can believe it.
They had so much time to look into the matter and doubtless searched deep and diligently.
You r right Gregor. I never blived my couzin wes making so moch money work from home. But I made $7813 last month werking from home for to be Russian spy. Putin payz so you afford luxury sedan! Chck it out for yourself htp:wwmputincontrolzus.cim

Russian-Alaskan Bankfraudifuck, I've heard...
Pot-o-gold
"Dude, this batch is skunked. Why did you leave it in the damp basement? What are we gonna do with it now?"
"Let's donate it to charity and write it off."
Chelsea Clinton is publishing a children's book titled She Persisted.
The full title is She Persisted Against Everyone's Better Judgment.
Boom.
Do you know who else persisted?
Dennis Moore the Highwayman?

This redistribution of wealth is more complicated than I thought.......

Lone Watie.
"Endeavor to persevere" (but his horse surrendered...)

Lol, this is actually how book deals are done these days.
Deposited in Clinton Foundation.
what clinton foundation?
what clinton foundation?
Exactly. Now you're catching on!
It's a book about how Huma brought Hillary to climax.
Huh, I would have thought it was how Hillary brought Bill to climax.
Coming soon to a remaindered table near you.
Webb Hubbel must be so proud.
Despite this thread being dead, my contribution was going to be, "Look! It's Hillary and Webb Hubbel's daughter!"
You got that one.
An Oklahoma state senator accused of child prostitution charges connected to a 17-year-old boy has surrendered to police.
Well, she shouldn't be paying teenagers for sex.
Just an fyi... the senator in question is a man named Ralph Shorty, not a "she."
Or I presume he identifies as a male... given that he's GOP here in OK where the whole gender identification quandary is a rather rare phenomenon.
And he is large, burley dude with a fair beard.
You may have heard that Trump released a budget proposal.
How he got it in under 140 characters is the real mystery.
Speaking of which, I just had another cup of coffee and things are a-stirring. Time to release a budget proposal of my own.
Reason has been going full Salon. You never go full Salon.
Salon: Everyone's wrong on immigration: Open borders are the only way to defeat Trump and build a better world
...What about elderly and disabled people, the creative and artistic, the bohemian and nonconformist, all those not employed in the professions that neoliberalism elevates? What about the parents of Dreamers? What about those who have committed any transgressions? They don't count as Dreamers;, they are "criminal aliens."...
...Migration is a human right. A person anywhere in the world has the right to migrate, just as there is a right to free speech or association. In fact, most other rights follow from the right to migrate....
Something tells me they really only care about one of those things happening.
Hush, Weigel.
Can high tax jurisdictions ban wealthy people from leaving without permission? After all, they have no right to migrate.
Well they certainly don't have a right to their income...

Chelsea Clinton is publishing a children's book titled She Persisted.
Was there some rush on Warren-inspired children's books and she was gonna get scooped? It seems like taking 20 min. to pen a children's book titled She Persisted would send a distinct message about the depth and breadth of your love for (female) children.
And that's SIR Ray Davies to you.
You really got me with that one.
Spiders Eat Up to 880 Million Tons of Insects Each Year
Lol.
Spiders Eat Up to 880 Million Tons of Insects Each Year
Pitch your plan to trap CO2 with spiders at the next international climate conference and your movie plot about how it will all go wrong and spiders will take over in Hollywood. Then, the next year, switch and see if anybody dissents or even notices.
Sounds more like material for a TED talk than a movie pitch.
And don't get them started on the astronomical figures related to microorganisms.
Note some of the awfulness of sex laws here. The age of consent in Oklahoma is 16, but it counts as "child prostitution" if it's with somebody under 18.
I don't find it outrageous that we have different thresholds for where one can consent to sex and when one can consent to selling sex, even if I might make adult prostitution legal and fiddle with the ages. You have to have some age below which a kid can't consent to prostitution
A lot of endlessly repeated vague details in that article. Was it really prostitution?
I have a comment of the year entrant from Gizmodo, in a thread about the McDonalds tweet-
Literally no one ever starved working at McDonalds. They may have been poor and couldn't afford other stuff but HOLY SHIT they never went hungry WORKING AT MCDONALDS.
A+ work Ittybittykitty
So McDonald's got some attention today for this tweet that was pinned to its feed for a little bit this morning before being deleted. They subsequently claimed that their account had been compromised:
Evidence that they were hacked by Russians BK!
CANADIANNNSSSSS!!!!!!
But, their eyes are closed so tight they're starting to see those trippy swirls and flashes.
Trump is lobbied by Irish prime minister to let country's 50,000 illegal immigrants in U.S 'make America great' ? and president says: 'We love Ireland'
"We don't want the Irish!"
Great movie! I would love to see the SJW reaction if it where released today.
They would burn down the theater at the premier.
I just want their whiskey.
Wait till Trump hears about the black Irish.
"Look out, Itchy, he's Irish!"
"A joint statement from leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee declares that they've seen no evidence that Trump Tower was wiretapped"
James Clapper said it didn't happen, so it didn't happen. Don't get me wrong. I'm in no way, shape, or form defending Trump. But, I really don't believe anything that comes for the IC anymore. They have the ability to "wiretap" anyone at any time. Does anyone really believe that the 'safe guards' we have in place keep them from doing it?
*slow clap*
thread winner
lol
We've already read it.
Mount Etna: BBC crew caught up in volcano blast
I would think they would suffered more srious injuries if the were hit by boiling rocks.
Thing is, volcanoes don't just pop. There's some warning, like, at least 15mins where the interns were like "should the ground be shaking this much?"
U.S. Women's Hockey Team Boycotting World Championships To Protest Low Pay
lol
They lost to teams my high school beats half the time. They're lucky to get paid a dime.
I bet they watch highlight reels from the 80s Olympics at Lake Placid and say, "Well, at least *they* got a living wage!"
They should play the men's team for their pay.
How many other olympic hopefuls get paid anything for their training?
You are actually a disgusting excuse of a President and we would love to have @BarackObama back, also you have tiny hands.

white grape juice isn't much more nutritious than refined sucrose, but hey, I'm sure the not-added-sugar magic bullet will kill obesity THIS time.
If Chelsea's kids' book is a pop up book, I'm skipping the Monica Lewinski chapter.
Yeah, sounds messy.
Trump wasn't wiretapped. The NYT said he was, but I'm pretty sure he uses a cell phone.
Well he may have a tower phone and i think just in general he meant spying....not necessarily actual tap
Also the guardian talked about the fisa warrants in june and October...not sure if they based it on heatst
A joint statement from leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee declares that they've seen no evidence that Trump Tower was wiretapped during the 2016 election
Since they don't visit H&R, they haven't seen the several evidential links posted by the commentariat.
Yea so how did the nyt and guardian write their stories?
^ moron
France high school shooting: Armed pupil arrested after opening fire.
I thought school shootings only happened in Amurrika.
All those weapons and yet he seems to have surrendered rather easily.
Fake news. There are no guns in France because of their strict laws.
Haw haw haw funny every time.
You just have grenade envy.
Perhaps Bill Clinton can do a book now about his encounters with other women. "Nevertheless, She Resisted."
She resisted, he persisted, Hillary fixed it.
that last rhyme falls short of perfection, 7/10
A joint statement from leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee declares that they've seen no evidence that Trump Tower was wiretapped during the 2016 election as President Donald Trump has claimed.

Chelsea Clinton is publishing a children's book
Meh. Sounds stupid, but if it's what she wants to do, more power to her.
titled She Persisted.
erp, baaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrfffffff
"Shortey was charged Thursday with engaging in child prostitution, transporting a minor for prostitution and engaging in prostitution within 1,000 feet of church. He was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center and released on bond."
The church doesn't want any competition.
Chelsea Clinton is publishing a children's book
I lie awake at night raging that the Clintons and Obamas have book deals while my own brilliant vanity blog doesn't get a single dime in the tip jar.
You really don't have to work to convince us you're a sad, pathetic person.
zzzzzz
Ouch. To have such laws on the book is ... I can't even.
Oh, please. They have laws against organ grinding monkeys working on weekends and the like. This is what happens when you don't sunset anything.
Trump's budget cuts 19 agencies. That seems inherently good.
He spends more than I like on defense but at least that is a core function of the federal government.
Nothing else happened.
To be accurate, the above should read:
