Very nice drawing. I'm not 100% sure of the message, but that's just me.

Not many political cartoonists can combine craft with solid ideas and writing. They usually have one or the other.

This is nicely rendered but real meh in concept.

    2. Cynical Asshole   8 years ago

It's an ~60 year old car up on blocks because Cuba is so impoverished that's the only cars most people have access to. If they have a car at all. On the plus side though, Cuban mechanics can fix just about anything. Seriously, in a zombie apocalypse, any group of survivors that doesn't have a Cuban mechanic with them is doomed to travel on foot after a short while. Of course, most Cubans are already living like its the apocalypse, so they're used to it.

Although somehow I doubt that Castro's Hearse was that shitty.

Did you miss the part where it broke down mid-parade and had to be pushed by soldiers?

  2. invisible furry hand   8 years ago

    It's so unspoilt

    1. Suthenboy   8 years ago

      And authentic.

    2. sarcasmic   8 years ago

      Poverty is so romantic...

    3. Groovus Maximus   8 years ago

So this is Cash-For-Clunkers, Cubano flavoured; the most unpretentious boneyard these eyes did see.

Even those tail lamp glasses are intact. I wonder if the A/C compressor, radiator, and engine block are still salvageable? Carburetor will probably need a rebuild...

    4. Kurmudgeonly Kristen   8 years ago

Quaint, like a living museum! It's like the tropical Colonial Williamsburg!

    5. Austrian Anarchy   8 years ago

It is so racist! The artist obviously thinks every Mexican has a broken down car on blocks in his front yard. If that wasn't racist enough, Cubans are not even Mexican!

  3. Fist of Etiquette   8 years ago

Pretty opulent. North Korea can't even afford cinder blocks.

    1. Groovus Maximus   8 years ago

      Nor the individual gravestones.

      1. Cynical Asshole   8 years ago

Everyone's equal in a mass grave...

Jeep Carrying Castro's Ashes Breaks Down During Procession

    1. I can't even   8 years ago

The picture of Castro in his broken down shit wagon is funnier than the drawing. The cartoon hearse is nicer than the actual piece of crap they put him on.

      1. Rhywun   8 years ago

That piece of crap was probably just for show anyway. "Man of the people" and all that.

    2. Cynical Asshole   8 years ago

"Haha! Hearse carrying diabolical stalinist despot #FidelCastro breaks down during funeral parade processional. #karma, you marvelous bitch!" @Reaganista tweeted.

      My thoughts exactly.

  5. Pompeius the Quant Retard   8 years ago

    ::thunderous applause::

Genuine lulz came out of my head.

  6. CatoTheChipper   8 years ago

Castro in the 1950s auto graveyard of history. Two cliches come to mind:

Graveyards are full of indispensable men. (Tallyrand ?)

[T]he march of freedom and democracy .. will leave Marxism-Leninism on the ash-heap of history. (Reagan)

  7. brady949   8 years ago

One of these days Friday Funnies should actually be funny.

  8. Unemployed Armenian Tranny   8 years ago

    The real funeral was funnier.

    1. Austrian Anarchy   8 years ago

Not nearly as entertaining as Arafat's.
