Anti-Vermin Measure on Ballot in Florida
Sadly wouldn't outlaw or ban pesky politicians

On the ballot in Key Haven, Florida: "Are you in favor of the Florida Keys Mosquito Control District conducting an effectiveness trial in Key Haven using genetically modified mosquitoes to suppress an invasive mosquito that carries mosquito-borne diseases?"
Specifically voters are being asked if male mosquitoes modified to pass along a gene that is lethal to the larva of the biting vermin can be released as a way to reduce the population of the non-native Aedes aegypti mosquito that transmits the dengue, Zika, and chikungunya viruses. As ScienceInsider explains:
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) greenlighted the project in August, but local opposition has been so strong that the mosquito control board has held off on approving the release. The ballot referenda—one for Key Haven and another for the broader Monroe County—are nonbinding. But three of the five board members have said they will follow the voters' decision. Oxitec has been releasing mosquitoes in other countries since 2009; the Cayman Islands, Malaysia, Brazil, and Panama have all hosted field experiments, and the company has reported greater than 90% reductions in mosquito populations in small test areas.
Zika-carrying Aedes aegypti mosquitoes are now biting Floridians and visitors in Miami with nearly 1,200 infections confirmed so far. Regular mosquito control efforts using pesticides have not worked and some residents claim to fear pesticide poisoning more than the virus.
So Key Haven residents, you don't have to vote for one pest over another. Vote YES to modern and ecologically gentle pest control.
If people won't vote against disease-carrying mosquitoes, what hope is there for the survival of the Republic?

I won't be surprised if this fails to pass. They keys are full of proggies.
Proggies of Florida
Those are sub nice proggies. I lub those proggies.
I like that they have this section: A humane method for euthanizing amphibians:
Vermin Supreme hit hardest.
Damn your nimble fingers!
I thought this was going to be about Vermin Supreme.
As a Florida Man myself, I created a mosquito that injects methamphetamine into the bloodstream with every bite. Unfortunately, after a certain number of bites, I freaked out and killed them all. Plus the bites got infected from all the scratching.
It'd be justice if those who protest and/or vote down this measure got a raging case of Zika. Unlikely to happen, since idiocy does get rewarded on occasion.
Apparently Zika isn't that serious for non-pregnant adults. And I won't wish birth defects on innocent kids just because their parents are proggie idiots; but we will be paying for the very expensive health care and education of those microcephalic children.
But only after the get elected to Congress, right?
No biggie if they end up with microcephalic fetuses, as Trump told us in the debate they can just get abortions up to the day before birth.
I am still voting for Vermin Supreme regardless.
Deez Nutz hardest hit.

What's the Party of Science's position?
As a former resident of the Keys, I can attest there are plenty of strange people there. I won't be surprised in the slightest if this measure (sadly) fails. However, there are some sane people and I can only hope they carry the day. Certainly my vote was a vote of sanity!!!

I heard, "suppress mosquito".
SOLD!
This new technology is really impressive. Suppressing an invasive mosquito with the genetically modified mosquito can result in a great effect in controlling their population. This can greatly reduce mosquito borne disease like West Nile virus, elephantiasis, dengue fever, yellow fever, etc and can prevent number of people from getting infected. This method can give an effective result in large areas, but, other than this consulting the professional exterminators like Davis pest control, Florida pest control or using the home remedies can also give a healthy extermination in less span of time, giving back a clean and healthy environment for humans to live.
