    Not arrested, of course.

Any non-cop who left a dog in a car, even a non-cop dog, would be arrested. And any non-cop who killed a cop dog would be in serious trouble.

    No double standards my ass.

    1. The Hyperbole ((Very Tall))   9 years ago

I'm certain that he feels just terrible, he just lost his partner. Isn't that enough punishment?

      1. Agammamon   9 years ago

Its a twist on the joke about the guy who killed his parents asking for mercy from the court because he's an orphan?

'Please your honor, I ask for leniency. This is a difficult time for me - my partner was recently murdered.'

    2. Trigger Hippie   9 years ago

Yep. In my neck of the woods a K9 unit dog's life has more value, legally speaking, than that of your average pleb. I imagine it's no different in Arkansas so, going off that metric, I'd say he should spend at least 5 years behind bars for his transgression, yes?

Next you're gonna tell me there's a liberal media complex.

    4. sarcasmic   9 years ago

Serious trouble indeed. In most places, killing a police dog is considered to be the same as killing a police officer. As in capital murder.

Yet this guy gets an unpaid vacation.

    5. Marty Feldman's Eyes   9 years ago

      No double standards my ass.

Exactly. A few years ago a k-9 here got killed when he was sicced on someone who then jumped off a bridge to get away. The dog was killed in the fall but the guy survived. The usual bootlickers were calling for that person to be charged with killing an police officer.

So with their usual modus operandi, prosecutors should be going after this cop-killer with the death penalty.

  2. straffinrun   9 years ago

Removed him from the K9 unit, eh. He's gonna treat humans any better?

    1. SimonD   9 years ago

Considering the issues I had with the cops in that part of the world (I was raised two counties west of Madison), I can answer that question with a resounding HELL NO!

At least there's a decent chance that he isn't smart enough to figure out how to load his weapon, though....so there's that.

  3. SugarFree   9 years ago

That dog was was only 2 dog-years from dogtirement!

    1. Mainer2   9 years ago

He was gettin too old for this shit.

      1. UnCivilServant   9 years ago

They get to "move to a farm in the country".

  4. UnCivilServant   9 years ago

Let me guess, the dog's name was "Manufactured Cause".

  5. Jerryskids   9 years ago

The handler of a Madison County K9 officer is facing disciplinary action after the K9 died from being left in a hot car.

    The passive voice is loved.

  6. Fist of Etiquette   9 years ago

THAT DOG WAS A RAT I TELL YA. He was internal affairs.

    1. straffinrun   9 years ago

You dirty brother, you killed my rat.
