Brickbat: Coming for Your Guns

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement has been working with local law enforcement agencies to scan the tags on cars of people attending gun shows in Southern California. ICE then compared those tags to those on cars crossing the Mexican border in an effort to catch gun smugglers.

They should perform this license scan in the ATF parking lot.
*golf clap*
So who would think a national registry would ever be used unconstitutionally? It defies the common sense nature of all gun laws.
No, a national registry would never ever be used unconstitutionally. If ever there were any suggestion otherwise, the Constitution would be taken to Room 101 and its text tortured until it screams and confesses that it's entirely and totally Constitutional to use a national registry that way.
Now the idea that a national registry would never be used for a mass confiscation of guns - that's a sucker bet.
This is counterproductive to the goals of the atf. I thought the idea was to let the guns walk into Mexico so the cartels could use them in a gun running/anti-gun running scheme designed to make Americans feel bad about U.S. sourced weapons being used in cartel violence in Mexico so the the U.S. government would have an easier time pushing more gun control.
It's tiresome trying to keep track of what the feds are trying to do.
They need some show trials. They aren't going to go after their own so they need another target. You attend a gun show and you visit Mexico. That is proof you are a gun runner.
Here's what I don't understand: guns are crossing the border, and women and children are being trafficked across the border. How is being "pro second amendment" not just code for advocating for international sex trafficking?
OT: Little bit like hearing Madoff comparing the Fed to a Ponzi scheme, but this interview with Abramoff gives a nice view of how the sausage is made. It's Daily Caller so don't blame me for the crappy load speed.
Oh yeah, and the government spying on people doing constitutionally protected things. Shocking.
Morning, Their looking for clowns buying guns. Never let a 'crisis' go to waste.
Those clown guns could take an eye out. *Bang!*
Has anyone asked for Bob Dylan's opinion on this?
'Twas in the town of Griffin
In the year of sixty-five
A well known famous drover
'Twas in the town of Griffin
In the year of sixty-five
A well known famous drover
Stepped up to me and talked
Sayin' "How do you do, young cowboy
And how'd you like to go
Spend the summer pleasantly
In the hills of Mexico"
Well, me being out of work right then
To this drover I did say
"Well, this going out on the buffalo range
Depends on your pay
But if you pay good wages
Transportation to and fro
I think I might go with you
To the hills of Mexico"
Well, we crossed the Latin river, boys
Our troubles they begun
Lightening, flashlight, hell-fire
Had made the cattle run
I tread towards the hiding place
Comanches waiting to pick us off
On the hills of Mexico
Dylan didn't write this, it's almost good...poor old Bob never got this close to good in his entire career
The real question is why is the ICE enforcing Mexican law? Guns are legal here and the government should have no interest in what you do with anything legal here - including if you take it out of here. I don't expect the Mexican government to 'protect' Americans from things our government deems contraband and I don't expect ours to protect them.
Want to smuggle guns into Mexico? Best hope the *Mexican* customs people don't search you.
Are there Mexican Customs officers, or are there merely additional cartel operatives that stand near the border?
With the amount of drugs that cross the border,I'd say the corruption exists on both sides.
There are absolutely Mexican Customs Officers. And they're not particularly concerned about anything *heading north*. Hell, they're not particularly concerned with anything heading south either - unless its Mexican.
I swear that Mexicans hate Mexicans more than old white people do.
This
My question is why doesn't ICE "C"ontrol (illegal) "I"mmigration? Maybe they are just "E"; for extortion (from taxpayers)?
I learned it from watching you dad!
Great headline to bad article didn't match

BAFTE has revived Fast, and they don't want any competition in gun-running into Mexico
Also Fast ?
Aha! No spaces, no acceptance
What? Fast & Furious is not accepted? Trouble with the ampersand? How about "F&F" or F & F ?
