Brickbat: Cry, the Beloved Country

The University of Cape Town had invited Flemming Rose to deliver the TB Davie Academic Freedom Lecture. But vice chancellor Max Price withdrew the invitation, saying there must be limits to freedom. As culture editor of the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, Rose commissioned cartoons depicting the Muhammad, the founder of Islam, that led to riots across the Muslim world and threats against the newspaper and its staff. Price said he feared for security on campus if Rose spoke and said that Rose's remarks would be divisive.

The 'warrior gene' is weak in this one.
Henceforth the event shall be called the Max Price Academic Pragmatism Lecture. First topic? Fostering the Power of the Heckler's Veto.
Also, did the vice chancellor really need to call Rose a retard?
"might (go full) retard rather than advance academic freedom on campus".
(poetic license)
From the culture editor of Jyllands-Posten-
We are currently taking submissions of cartoons depicting The University of Cape Town vice chancellor Max Price.
(sheep and woodchippers optional)
Here's to Max Price!
Max Price, Minimum balls.
'It's true your honor, this man has no dick'.
"Well, that's what I heard . . ."
From the linked article:
(Vice Chancellor Price waxing on the potential for violence if Rose were permitted to make the address ): . . . at a time when many on campus are feeling bruised and misunderstood by the events of the past 16 months."
Does it disturb anyone else that a University Vice Chancellor can actually put forward the above?
Or can someone elucidate for me the ability of an event to misunderstand (or understand) a human?
quelle douche
This seems to be beyond irony. What is the next level called?
Bureaucracy?
Cobalty?
It's irony all the way down!
Silicony?
THERE MUST BE LIMITS TO FREEDOM
*rallying cry of the douchebags*
Cape Town? Really?
Is there a buffalo involved?
Bondage erased of pleasure propagates between shiv-like marble teeth of brainery.
Battalions of bureaucrats and their autocratic executives are bestrewn with bitten missives oozing ivy and hoaxy altruism.
Cloaking world agendas behind long breezy lawns peppered with the strolling and musing the steepled hives cloister stables of glassy-eyed spirits gainfully plucked and bent into nature and form demanded by dark dreamers.
there must be limits to freedom
"And we are free to impose them!"
not so much with stupidity however...
Price said he feared for security on campus if Rose spoke and said that Rose's remarks would be divisive.
When people overreact to speech and turn hostile and violent, of course it's the fault of the person who spoke.
"The bitch just makes me so MAD!"
nice post thanks admin
