I've never discussed weld's presence on the LP ticket. I don't really have much interest in the LP as a vehicle for advancing actual libertarian ideas at all.

I think the fact that the party has gone so squishy as to be unrecognizable to 'actual libertarians' is something that should probably be expected. It will win its higher-percentage of the vote this year, but in the process will become Diet Democrat.

I'm not sure why gripes about money are so important. Trump's success this year is a very interesting case study in how the person who spent-least did the best. In fact, Nick and Weld are talking about that as i type this.

Soft-pedaling the message for the sake of optics is an odd choice for a group that's fundamentally a protest party in a FPTP system. I gave to GJ's campaign four years ago because of the attention he brought, but it'd be encouraging if after five years of being the standard bearer for libertarianism, he could ditch the fiscally conservative & socially liberal talk and at least hint at (be aware of?) the radical roots.

After 5 years, i think he's realized that being the guy who gives a warm-fuzzy to ideologues like you doesn't ever get the LP more than its predictable 1%

FWIW, the stock market has been down every day of the Democrat convention.

It was up and down the week of the Republican convention, but ended the week higher.

Make of it what you will, but if you assume (a) the market is projecting the winner of the election and (b) Wall Street prefers HIllary, then it would seem to mean that the Repub convention was a success and the Dem convention so far isn't.
