Brickbat: Don't Go to New Jersey

A Pennsylvania corrections officer has been suspended from his job and faces a minimum of more than three years in prison after being charged in New Jersey with carrying a gun without a state permit. Raymond Hughes, who does have a carry permit in Pennsylvania, was returning from a concert in Atlantic City when he was involved in an accident with a drunk driver. He told officers responding to the crash that his gun was under his seat. Days later, he found himself facing a felony charge.

Where's fist? Any way, never ,ever, give information you that's not needed. Keep your mouth shut.
But he's one off the good guys, not like all those criminals he helps keep locked up. Who I'm sure are all rapist and thieves and murderer.
I didn't read that, well fuck the entitled sob. Some animals are more equal huh?
I liked that - they're trying to make out like he's some kind of criminal just because he's some kind of criminal. He only had an illegal piece of steel on him, it's not like he had an illegal leaf or something. Yeah, the law sucks ass, but it's sucks ass for us plebs worse than it does for you, motherfucker.
Of course the constitution says he can carry that gun wherever the fuck he pleases. New Jersey is just a deep blue progtard 2nd amendment-violating state. Probably the worst in the country when it comes to guns.
The constitution isn't a law. If it was, all those times police actions were ruled unconstitutional, they would have been jailed, right?
Now that New Jersey Democrat Chris Christie is no longer running for president, he no longer has to pretend to be anything but a colossal anti-gun prick. This "good guy" ain't getting a pardon from that governor.
It's interesting, bee tee dubs, that people don't understand the word criminal. It's not synonymous with bad. It doesn't mean evildoer. It just means something you've done has been made a crime. When they outlaw breathing, you'll be a criminal.
Criminal means every person in this country if the cops, feds, look hard enough.
Criminal? I prefer the term felon, myself. Three felonies a day, baby!
Breathing? You mean exhausting carbon without a license.
He won't need to; the prosecutor dropped the charges three days ago.
It's good to be the King's Men. Even a lowly-ranking one...
WRONG.
Wait, wut?
...he was involved in an accident with a drunk driver. He told officers responding to the crash that his gun was under his seat.
Unless the drunk driver hit him so hard that he was knocked from PA to Jersey, he violated their ludicrous gun laws first.
Yes - it is almost as if the prosecutor was seeking an excuse to drop the charges against a fellow government employee.
I doubt a civilian would benefit from a policy of "we won't press charges because we only found the contraband in your car when a drunk driver hit you."
Well, I was originally going to say "unless he's some kind of fell conjurer, that gun was in his car the moment he stepped over the state line into New Jersey."
Instead I went with "Wait wut".
That'll teach me to select brevity over precision.
And that lady doctor went through hell. And there was another I can't recall off hand. 3 days and the guys back to 'hero' status?
Some animals are more equal than others.
Completely OT: Chris Cuomo on CNN just went there. Talking with some Dem Senator who's slamming the GOP for neglecting their Constitutional duty to hold hearings on Obama's SCOTUS nominee (depite the fact that there is no Obama SCOTUS nominee) and they play the clip of McConnell saying that while Obama has a Constitutional right to nominate, the Senate has a Constitutional right to give their consent or to withhold their consent - and Chris Cuomo helpfully points out that while the Constitution does in fact give the Senate the right to consent, there actually is not anything in the Constitution giving the Senate the right to withhold consent.
Kind of like consenting to a vehicle inspection. Consent or get reamed.
Of course they also played the clip of Ted Cruz referring to Donald Trump as P T Barnum, which is a slur on P T Barnum and an indication that Ted Cruz has no idea who Barnum actually was. There are certainly some comparisons to be drawn between Trump and Barnum, but they are not at all favorable to Trump. Barnum was a showman and a self-described "humbug" who sold the public spectacle, but he made damn sure the public got more than their money's worth. Trump makes sure Trump gets more than his money's worth and the public be damned. Barnum also used his wealth to help fund Tufts University and built a lecture hall to bring educational lectures to the public, Trump founded Trump University. Barnum was a state rep elected on the abolitionist platform - "A human soul, 'that God has created and Christ died for,' is not to be trifled with. It may tenant the body of a Chinaman, a Turk, an Arab or a Hottentot ? it is still an immortal spirit." - does that sound like Trump?
Trump is worth every cent I paid for his show. Every. Damn. Cent.
Despite that I might vote for him.
It is possible last year when I drove through NJ on the way to Baltimore that I conceal carried a Sig Sauer pistol.
Hey Jersey, GFY. And why full service only at gas stations?
RE: Gas Stations.... Because this is a Democrat state. I'm sure a long time ago some politician's relative or friend was was about to lose his job when self serve became popular. So... no self serve in NJ. But now try and find a gas station where the attendants speak English.
RE: Guns... I'm counting the days until I can finally move out of this Progtard state. Check the crime statistics. See how well tough gun laws work?
Per FBI crime statistics, I live in the second safest state in the union. We have constitutional carry, just like the safest state.
Washington DC had the highest crime rates and if I recall correctly it is still technically illegal to obtain a gun there.
More guns = less crime.
The retards who run this state would never get rid of full-service only gas stations without a massive increase in the gas tax. Since gasoline is the only thing in this state not taxed at about the highest levels nationally, I don't complain.
NJ gas is about 20 cents a gallon cheaper than PA and much cheaper than NY or CT - I always leave the state with a full tank.
I have relatives in New Jersey. I haven't visited there in 60 years. There is a reason for that.
yeah man. relatives suck, am I right?
Didn't this also happen to a black lady from Penn. in NJ? If I recall, the charges were dropped but not as quickly (?)
I live in NJ and hate the gun laws. I keep hoping that one of these cases really gets prosecuted all the way then appealed to the Supreme Court - where they smash NJ gun laws for good. With Scalia gone and his successor chosen by Obama or the winner of the big clown show, that dream may be gone.
I think Christie didn't really want that outcome - that's why he and the state prosecutors keep avoiding it.
I've been to NJ and I had a gun with me...f u Chris, you fat bastard

Stop trolling you ass. You could make a 100 dollars an hour standing on a street corner.
You don't seem to understand. The state manages its welfafe budget by disarming the working class so the ghetto thugs don't have to receive them. I am glad that fat schoolgirl they have for a governor dropped out of the race for President. Hate for the rest of America to be like New Jersey.
