The Detroit Police Department is investigating one of its sergeants for disliking Beyoncé's halftime performance at the Super Bowl. The sergeant, whose name hasn't been released, posted on his personal Facebook page his dislike for the performance and what he believed was its celebration of the Black Panthers and Malcolm X, comparing them to the Ku Klux Klan.

Nothing unusual. I can't believe they didn't try to hype another regular been-happening-forever event as a global warming disaster. I just saw one last week where someone was watching a glacier calve into the ocean and they moaned and cried the whole time because global warming was causing the glacier to collapse.

Speaking of which, whatever happened about the Antarctic ice sheet collapse that was inevitable and already occurring? We don't hear much about that anymore...

The NFL needs to screen what their artists are gonna do a bit more. The halftime show shouldn't be a platform to get a political message across.

Wow, it's a theme. Yesterday we had police getting fired for losing pot used in an exercise.... today we have cops digging deep to investigate a facebook post that demonstrates, what? Failure to properly fear public perception of racial bias?

But torment and beat a 135 pound mentally ill homeless guy to death? Procedures were followed. Shoot an unarmed man walking down an alley within 2 seconds of contact? Yup, good shoot.... In fact, all of these are so obviously beyond reproach that we can announce the conclusion before we begin the investigation. Confidently. As in "I am confident that the investigation will show..."

And people wonder why there is mistrust of the police?

Sting is an absurd choice. All basketball halftime games should always be the Quad City DJs performing the "Space Jam" theme song. Maybe occasionally pulling in someone else to play a "remix" alongside QCD.

My takeaway from the halftime show was that if you compare the dancing quality between Bruno Mars and Beyonce was that Bruno moves like a dancer and Beyonce does calisthenics*. She is really heavy-footed. Bruno moves like a cat.
