Barack Obama's final State of the Union address was an unintentional demonstration of the physics of football. Which is to say, those goalposts won't move themselves.

President Not My Fault claims credit for things that had nothing to do with him, lights up strawmen, exhorts for the almighty State to gain more money and power.

I didn't watch the STFU and I'm not going to watch the video, but... was I close?

    1. prolefeed   9 years ago

Beats me. I can't stand to watch or listen to that motherfucker either.

    2. Gilbert Martin   9 years ago

Since there has yet to be any instance where Obama ever did anything other than that, you couldn't help but be right on target.

With the lame-duck era official, the polled expectations and lip-service obligations lifted, Barry's hope soars anew.

You can tell he's either stayed up past his bed time to record this or indulged in the drinking game to some degree.

      1. Swiss Servator   9 years ago

        I respect both choices.

Joe's name being mentioned sure snapped him out of his haze.

He was daydreaming of groping some other politco's wife?

I'm glad you included his closing line: "I'm as confident as I've ever been..... the State of our Union is Strong!"

After having spent most of the closing of his speech with dire warnings of how listening to Rush Limbaugh or watching Fox News is destroying our shared vision... how we are vandalizing mosques and saying mean things to little kids and generally not respecting the diversity that everyone else in the world respects so much... he closes with that line.

It was almost like a wink... as if he were really being honest in the whole thing and he was afraid to lie and say he believed the state of the union was strong, so he just went with "I'm as confident as I've ever been" - which is to say, not confident at all.

    1. Frankjasper1   9 years ago

Did he really mention Fox News and Rush Limbaugh?

      1. Sevo   9 years ago

I don't know, since I didn't watch, but the Chron ran one story today regarding Obo 'taking on his rivals!' Brave man, I guess, calling them nasty names while getting free air-time!
Narcissistic piece of work, ain't he?

  9. Rufus The Monocled Derp Slayer   9 years ago

I'm glad I'm Canadian. At least Obama doesn't believe in me.

    1. Swiss Servator   9 years ago

Well....despite having been north of our border, I am not entirely sure Canada, or Canadians exist. The only thing that really makes me think so is that the Blackhawks do play some games somewhere outside the lower 48. Hmmm...they might all be disguised cities in Alaska, now that I think about it...

I'm pretty sure those are the hockey equivalent of "Friendlies", like when one of the top Euro teams comes and beats the crap out of an MLS squad in an exhibition.

You know who else "peddled fiction" ?.

    1. Swiss Servator   9 years ago

      Sir Arthur Conan Doyle?

      Krugman?

      Reich?

      Stiglitz?

That was a multiple choice question, wasn't it?

    Is there a way?
    Yes!
It is to end this paean to our first Socialist/Progressive President, Wilson, and return to the principles of Jefferson by sending the Congress a Letter that they may peruse at their leisure.

This is the 21st century. A simple Skype call or text would do. Better yet, just text a bunch of emoticons.

My last pay check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can't believe how easy it was once I tried it out. This is what I do..

Start working at home with Google! It's by-far the best job I've had. Last Wednesday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474 this - 4 weeks past. I began this 8-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $77 per hour. I work through this link, go to tech tab for work detail.
