That feud with Anthony Bourdain must be weighing on him!

    2. Austrian Anarchy   10 years ago

Wow, I was way off thinking that was Paula Dean.

  2. Fist of Etiquette   10 years ago

I can't tell, is Frankenstein's monster accidentally looking at the camera or breaking the 4th wall? @munstertoday

  3. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

Wait - Alt text on a Friday "Funny"?

    1. invisible furry hand   10 years ago

I want alt text on alt text

      1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

That wouldn't work, you can't mouseover the alt-text to display it.

        1. invisible furry hand   10 years ago

          You're no fun

          1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

I'm sitting at work, having finally cleaned what was left of my breakfast off of my shirt, and running on next to no sleep. I'm lucky I'm not hurling mean-spirited barbs.

            1. Ted S.   10 years ago

You work for the government. By definition you're not allowed to be nice during work hours. 😉

        2. Ted S.   10 years ago

          Awful, and therefore perfect.

          1. Swiss Servator   10 years ago

I am not even going to fill in for sage, this one is so uninspiring.

    2. Swiss Servator   10 years ago

UCS, this one was so bad, they had to throw a life ring of alt-text to it.

  4. Fist of Etiquette   10 years ago

Is Neil Flynn holding the new iPhone 6 Plus? I don't think he's using those bluetooth earpieces right.

    1. Ted S.   10 years ago

      There is freedom within,
      There is freedom without....

It's a throat mic, to cancel out background noise.

      1. d3x / dt3   10 years ago

        For tactical fish shopping.

  5. AlmightyJB   10 years ago

    The "science" is settled.

  6. AlmightyJB   10 years ago

Outside of tree bark, nuts, and honey what edible items are not gmo?

    1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

bugs. We haven't actively engineered most bugs.

      1. AlmightyJB   10 years ago

        True.

        1. AlmightyJB   10 years ago

I guess a lot of reptiles would be ok too. Most everything in the grocery store is though.

          1. Jimbo   10 years ago

Mr Lizard: what do YOU think?

    2. Ted S.   10 years ago

      Ice.

      1. Francisco d'Anconia   10 years ago

        Fluoridation.

    3. Agammamon   10 years ago

Most (all) of your nuts are genetically engineered also.

  7. dantheserene   10 years ago

Today is a perfect example of how the comic exists to facilitate the comments.

    1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

I thought the whole purpose of reason online was to facilitate the comments, which, in turn, are the real draw for people to visit the site and generate either ad revenue or nag revenue during the begathon.

      1. Swiss Servator   10 years ago

At least I stopped getting ads for Clamato in Spanish, and the "Date a [Russian/Asian Lady/STEVE SMITH]" ones.

        1. Bobarian (Would Chip Her)   10 years ago

Once you click the "Date a STEVE SMITH" one, all the ads go away, out of respect.

          1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

I was wondering how Swiss' date with the Russian STEVE SMITH went.

            1. Swiss Servator   10 years ago

              PAINFULLY...thanks for asking.

        2. gaijin   10 years ago

          Clamato in Spanish

          Sounds like an STD

          1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

It's often asymptomatic in men, especially white men, having the most pronounced symptoms on latinas.

            1. gaijin   10 years ago

I wonder if wise latinas as easily afflicted as their unwise hermanas.

        3. AdamJ   10 years ago

I get ads to donate to HRC

      2. Austrian Anarchy   10 years ago

Yes, Balko's greatest gift to mankind.

  8. GILMORE?   10 years ago

    I don't get it.

    1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

If you don't get it, then it must be ART!, right? That's how that scam works, isn't it?

    2. macsnafu   10 years ago

You're on the internet - look it up. Basically, the FDA just said they don't have to label genetically modified salmon as genetically modified. So when you go to the store to buy salmon, the consumer won't know if it's genetically-modified or not. Unless they voluntarily label it.

      1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

        Good.

        1. macsnafu   10 years ago

It works for me, but I'm sure a lot of people are upset about it.

      2. Not okay   10 years ago

I'm sure there's plenty of companies who are willing to label their Salmon "GMO Free" and charge you out the ass so you don't need to worry.

      3. Agammamon   10 years ago

Uh no. The 'joke' is that *aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall* of your food has been genetically modified.

Some 'naturally' through random mutation and selective breeding. Ignoring the fact that the 'random mutation' is *forced* through deliberate radiation or chemical exposure in a 'let's see what happens for SCIENCE!' manner.

The *other* stuff is genetically modified through the 'Frankensteinian' method of actually finding the specific trait you want and splicing the genes in to code for it - and only it. Yet somehow the latter method is far more scary to people than the former where you get a whole bunch of cruft mutations along with the desirable one.

That's the zinger with is it a 'naturally modifed' Frankenfish or a 'genetically modified' Frankenfish.

  9. Seguin, the Mighty Monoclops   10 years ago

This cartoon is so fucking horrible I can't even fap to it.

  10. Jimbo   10 years ago

Is this from Bok's less successful brother in law?8
