The Cult of Victims
Attaching attention and moral status to "victimhood" is changing the character of the nation.

The world has enough real problems without declaring everyone a "victim."
Bill Clinton says Hillary is a victim of a right-wing conspiracy.
Lindsay Lohan, when jailed for driving drunk and breaking parole, says she's a victim of cruel and unusual punishment.
Michael Sam says his NFL career would have gone better had he not come out as gay.
A Philadelphia dentist caught groping his patients' breasts said he is a victim of frotteurism, a disease that compels you to fondle breasts. Really.
People benefit by playing the victim.
Activists look for people they can declare victims, to bring attention to their causes.
The New York Times once called the Super Bowl the "Abuse Bowl," claiming that during the game many more women are abused than usual because their men get crazed watching violence. CBS called Super Bowl Sunday a "day of dread." The Boston Globe claimed a study showed calls to anti-violence emergency lines go up 40 percent during the game.
Then Ken Ringle of the Washington Post tried to trace those claims.
The Globe reporter admitted she never saw the study in question but got the numbers from the left-wing group Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting. FAIR said they got them from a psychiatrist on "Good Morning America." That psychiatrist referred callers to another psychiatrist, who said, "I haven't been any more successful than you in tracking down any of this."
The "Super Bowl victim" claim was bunk.
Sometimes I feel like a victim. I stutter. Had today's disability laws existed when I began work, would I have fought to overcome my stuttering? Maybe not. I might have sued my employer, demanding they "accommodate my disability" by giving me a non-speaking job. Maybe I would have just stopped working and collected a disability check.
I also felt like a victim the day I taped a TV report on how pro-wrestling is fake, and a wrestler beat me up, hitting me on both ears.
Weeks afterward, loud noises hurt my ears. Someone then said that that the wrestler's boss, Vince McMahon, told him to hit me, so I sued McMahon.
As part of the lawsuit, McMahon's lawyers demanded I see a certain doctor, who told me, "Your ear pain is a jurosomatic illness."
"What's that?" I said.
He answered, "Jurosomatic … like psychosomatic. You hold onto your ear pain because you're involved in a lawsuit."
I was furious. I screamed at him, "You haven't even examined me, and you make this accusation?"
But guess what? After the World Wrestling Federation settled the lawsuit and paid me, my ear pain slowly went away.
Was I holding onto pain because litigation kept reminding me that I was a victim?
Maybe.
It makes me wonder about those well-intended government programs meant to help the disabled. Social Security disability money used to go to blind people, people in wheelchairs, people clearly disabled.
But now billions go to people who say they're disabled by things like headaches and back pain. Disability payments have increased so much that the program will soon go broke.
But the increase in payments makes no sense.
Medicine improved since 1990. People do less hard manual labor. There should be fewer disabled people. Why are there more?
Perhaps it's jurosomatic pain? Or government-handout-omatic pain?
Some people are just inclined to complain, and the modern welfare state encourages that. Lawyers made it worse by encouraging people to sue, rather than strive. That changed America.
When you reward something, you get more of it.
We change people's character by teaching them that "victimhood" is a way to get attention and moral status.
Our ancestors never would have accomplished much if they'd labeled themselves victims. They crossed oceans and the prairie knowing that many people on the journey would die.
Some of them really did end up being victims. But they were proud of striving, not proud of being victimized. They accomplished far more because of it.

The greatest power one can have is the ability to lob government bureaucracy at his foes. The easiest way to wield that awesome power these days is victimhood. But soon we'll come to realize that when everyone's the victim, no one can be.
The only spousal beating during the Super Bowl would be if Michael Sam made the Vikings roster.
They will assign different points for each victim status. The people with the most points win. You already see battles for point values between victim groups.
Will updates to the chart be issued quarterly? I don't want to fall too far behind.
I believe points will be awarded based on a quarterly victim grievance convention. You will always lose points for being white, male, heterosexual, cisgendered, employed, libertarian or a hockey fan.
Hockey fans lose all of their points.
I have no points to lose.
I'm screwed. 🙁
VICTIM!
"Black Lesbian" is currently the most points heavy. My feminist (acquaintances) who are white are having trouble being heard by black lesbians hijacking the pity train.
This has to do with allowing self-definition. "I'm X." No critique, no objective challenges allowed.
Wouldn't "Black Transgendered" get more points? I am not sure the hetero/homo rules for the transgendered and how the points are awarded.
Black tranny doublegay midget with an eating disorder, 50k in student debt (BA capybaras studies), and psychological trauma brought on by a fear of definite articles, xho's parents molested xhi and has 200k in student debt?
SPEAK!!

See Trannies are either ...
Men trying to muscle in on that female victimhood
or
Gender traitors for wanting to be men.
So trannies don't count. They are still higher than straight white men but only just barely
See, what you did there, was almost sort of logical.
I think you're overestimating these people.
That's not how points are given.
Points are given based on how effective they are as a club to beat on 'the squares' and gain political power in the process.
Points are given to whichever group can shout the loudest at every infraction, to the point that everyone (including SJWs) are unwilling to say anything other than positively glowing comments about said group. It all seems to be a fear driven culture from my eyes.
Of course this is all the fault of white people who started the whole mess by allowing white guilt silence them. Now the silencing is extending to everyone. If white people had the balls to standup to the initial runs of white guilt, maybe this wouldn't have happened.
But it did, and the progs are eating their own now.
The answer probably lies in both contextuality and intersectionality... somehow.
I think certain victimhoods are more a multiplier bonus. Disability, for instance. If you're a handicapped white male, no one cares. But disabled lesbian black native American?
Are we talking theoretically, or are we looking into creating a fantasy victim league?
Someone should seriously start this.
I was anticipating a futures and options market!
Oh, and lots of gambling on the results...
My Fantasy Victimhood draft is next week! I'm expecting a good season.
"All animals are victims, but some are more victims than others."
When I was a young, idealistic community college student, I took a few anthropology classes. Allegedly, in one area of Tanzania, there was an area where several chimp groups' territories overlapped, and just about dead-center was an empty oil drum. It was a little too big to move, but it made a great drum which, when banged on, would scare and impress all the chimps in earshot. Researchers noticed that chimps would fight en masse to control the drum, and, once held, they'd use it to establish hierarchy within their own groups.
The kind of people who advocate for restrictive gun laws because firearms are "too dangerous" for anyone to have are the same people who won't bat an eyelash at using the infinitely more dangerous state to advance their individual interests. The government is a big drum just sittin' around, waiting for a chimp to bang on it.
One of the more interesting analogies!
The government is the gun that we point at each other's heads.
My tiny fucking violin is playing - boo hoo hoo
Interesting trivium: tiny violins (1/32 or 1/64 scale) that play in tune are much more expensive than the larger variety.
I'm a victim of government stupidity.
Can I get disability for that? It seems the government has disabled my ability to function in a free society.
Hey, you elected them.
I really, really, really tried not too. And, not many (if any) I voted for are in office. So really I'm stuck with what other people voted for.
It's possible no candidate/amendment/bond issue I've voted for/on has gone my way since the Reagan administration.
THIS ALL FUCKING DAY.
Google pay 97$ per hour my last pay check was $8500 working 1o hours a week online. My younger brother friend has been averaging 12k for months now and he works about 22 hours a week. I cant believe how easy it was once I tried it out.
This is wha- I do...... ?????? http://www.buzznews99.com
Are you on disability, spambot?

What is the point of this drivel? Nobody whines as much as you people. Give me a break!
How much does the police disability fund pay you each month for your achy back? Fuck you, statist pig-dog.
It's all in your mind. Nobody makes up as much shit as you do.
Tony, labor participation in this country is going down, does that bother you? And if not, at what point will it bother you?

When I was 14, I had a physical in order to play sports at my high school. Part of this was a full set of x-rays. The doctor, upon looking at them, said, "do you know you have a spine defect?" I really didn't. I went home and asked my mother about it. She told me, that my C5 and C6 vertebrae were congenitally fused. I asked her why she never told me about it, to which she replied, "we didn't want you to use it as an excuse."
I never have, and never will. In some cases, people are truly victims. In most cases, they're just volunteers.
Well, the thing is, most of these proggies claiming privilege actually do have IQ's low enough to create a hardship.
I had some back issue at work. Back spasms. They wheeled me into a hospital and took xrays.
Then in front of a couple of fellow employees, the good doc explains: "It looks just fine, except, you know, for your birth defect."
Excuse me?
Apparently I had an extra vertebrae. Or something like that. Maybe I got the one you were missing.
No irony in claiming victimization by victim culture.
Nope. None.

That is why you fail.

The clear *intention* of the Progressive Theocracy is to *rule* their neighbors by force. This is the worst of all intentions.
"Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power."
