The Secret Service forced hundreds of children with cancer and their parents out of Lafayette Square park in Washington, D.C., disrupting a planned vigil. The park was barricaded for hours, and families were not allowed to get back in to retrieve their belongings. Parents say agents told them they closed the square because President Obama had left the White House from a nearby exit.

Police officers and agents on the scene told some parents that the closure was necessary because President Obama had left the White House from an entrance near the square to address the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's annual gala.

The CBC? A gala? Cancer-stricken kids? Those are some pretty bad optics.
