Supreme Court Hears Obamacare Arguments, Ferguson Report Released, Boston Marathon Bombing Trial Begins: P.M. Links

FBI The Supreme Court heard oral arguments today in King v. Burwell to determine whether the Affordable Care Act allowed for subsidies to exchanges run by the federal government or just the states. Justice John Roberts, who played a crucial role in upholding the challenge to the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act, said little to indicate which way he was leaning.
- The Department of Justice has released a 100-page report documenting all sorts of abusive police behavior in Ferguson, Missouri. As expected, they have also determined that there was no evidence that Ferguson Police Officer Darren Brown did anything wrong when he shot and killed Michael Brown.
- The trial for Dzokhar Tsarnaev for his role in the Boston Marathon bombing finally began today. His lead attorney acknowledged in her opening statement that Tsarnaev did indeed carry out the bombing with his brother, Tamerlan, but is angling for mercy by arguing that Dzokhar was under Tamerlan's influence.
- The White House says Hillary Clinton's use of private e-mail to do all of her communication as secretary of state was in violation of "very specific guidance" on carrying out official business. She also thwarted records requests.
- New York City will add two Muslim holidays to its public school calendars, giving more than a million kids Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha off to reflect on how awesome it is to not have to go to school.
- Potential presidential candidate Ben Carson is getting some attention for saying that homosexuality must be a choice because some people go into prison straight, but come out gay. It totally happened on Oz.
