Brickbat: First, the Sentence

Under new guidelines issues by Britain's Director of Public Prosecutions, men accused of date rape will now be required to show their innocence. Defendants must be able to demonstrate that the complainant said yes to sex and did so "freely and knowingly." And those guidelines apply not only when the alleged victim may have been incapacitated by drink or drugs but when she has mental health problems or the accused held some sort of position of power.

WOW. That is a rather troubling development. May just be the end of sex in the Prison Isle. Oh well, I guess you have a shot of going free if you film her with your cell phone at the beginning of the evening (and various points throughout) saying that she consents to sex.
But, seriously, this may be the most fucked up thing that I read today.
Day is young.
Guilty until proven innocent. Can we say the Brits have finally gone full retard?
Guilty until proven innocent just means they went French...
Which isn't that far off these days.
New guidance will be issued to all police forces and prosecutors as part of a 'toolkit' to move rape investigations into the 21st century
And guilty until proven innocent is a 21st century thing for them. Do they even see what's wrong with this ?
The onus of proof at trial is not being changed (and can't be via guidelines). It's all about getting more cases to trial.
So, basically causing as much pain as possible to any accused man no matter how ridiculous the accusation.
Yes. As I say in my post below:
It will increase prosecutions but it's unlikely to affect the already low conviction rate, as these will be weaker cases. In fact, my bet is that the prosecution/conviction ratio will increase. So, more people being prosecuted at public expense, but no real pay-off in detecting and punishing criminals. Yep, some great public policy there.
Indeed, you're right. The title was quite misleading.
In other words, just plain guilty. Because as our feminist friends tell us, there's no such thing as an innocent man.
Here I was, trying to come up with a post that talked about unintended consequences, but no matter how I wracked my brain I couldn't do it. So what do I see when I look at the comments -- the very first one talks about filming the encounter! Congrats.
If I have a bonded chastity belt installed on entering the jurisdiction of the Queen's Justice - will that protect me from prosecution?
So,tell me,when did you stop beating your wife?
What wife?
Alternate snark: "When she said the safe word."
That is the beauty of the "enthusiastic consent" position. Even if you have a video of a sex consent form-signing, how could you possibly prove "freely and knowingly"? In this world even "yes" doesn't necessarily mean yes.
From the same world we have the attitude that anyone who questions such things is a nutty/evil "men's rights" activist and can be safely ignored, but more properly should be vilified.
The M.O.of every guy according to these lawmakers.
In other news Great Britain sees a 300% spike in internet porn usage.
What is with our birth rates these days??! I don't get it!
/any 1st world leader
Just to be clear, that's a somewhat misleading summary. The onus of proof at trial is not being changed (and can't be via guidelines). It's all about getting more cases to trial.
You people who insist on RTFA can sure get annoying at times.
I'm sure the SJWs will be fine with this. On the one hand, the men who get prosecuted will be ruined regardless of whether they're acquitted or not--they'll never get their reputation, job, etc. back. On the other hand the low conviction stats will be a handy club with which to "prove" that the Evil Patriarchy is still oppressing away.
For them, a double-barreled win.
Canada's version of Fox News is no longer a thing.
OT
Robotic rights in 3, 2, 1?
Until robots are programmed to feel pain, we can keep kicking them as much as we are able. (though foot injuries for kicking metallic objects may prevent this as a long-term passtime)
Well, at least getting consent should be easy.
police and prosecutors must now put a greater onus on rape suspects to demonstrate how the complainant had consented
"No means yes, and yes means onus!"
Seriously, YA reason to never set foot in the UK.
Onal sex?
Is anyone REALLY surprised by this? GB was already so far over the cliff that it's just a question of when they finally hit the rocks below.

Fuck England. I mean, actually fuck England. Then they can sue for non-consensual sex and the thing will have come full circle jerk.
Did I mention"Fuck England"?
"Heard you buried your country."
"Hmm. Yes. Had to. Dead, you know."
And fuck England in the onus!
Jesus Christ you'll need to lawyer up before having sex.
Britain is dead.
Fuck England.
Whooo....for along time I though American males wore the crown of the biggest pussies in the world. But thank god for British men.
Social justice is destroying all that is good about civilization. We've squandered our children's inheritance and humanity will enter a dark age if western civilization doesn't get it's shit together.
Coming soon across the pond in 3, 2, 1......
