This is not provoking my anti-statist metaphorical war boner. In Postrel's day you got real outrages, not this big load of nothing.

      Stop whining, ifh!

      1. UnCivilServant   12 years ago

tarran, clearly customer service isn't for you. We're going to have to reassign you. How's upper lower management sound?

    3. Almanian!   12 years ago

Well, I guess everything's just bigger in Australia.

I hope you're drinking as appropriate, ifh. And I assume you're with Bruce, Bruce and Bruce.

"Australia! Australia! Australia! We love you! AMEN! Right - Rule numbah ONE! No pooftahs! Rule numbah TWO! I don't wanna catch anybody NOT drinking! Rule numbah THREE? No pooftahs!"

Scotch and Vegemite on the rocks?

          1. invisible furry hand   12 years ago

            The combatants: Scotch and Vegemite
            The battlefield: Your tongue
The rules: It ends in death of the Scotch, the Vegemite, or the tongue

            Let's get ready to rumble...

Not to make light of this tragedy but they also say 'stop whining about taxes!'

    1. UnCivilServant   12 years ago

Stop taxing me and I'll stop whining about taxes.

  4. Almanian!   12 years ago

You know, for a "service" called "911"....

    1. VicRattlehead   12 years ago

Well they do work with a department whose motto is "to serve and protect"

  5. Nosea   12 years ago

I am so starting to get the Millennial's logic. At some point, these calls should become obsolete. Having to convey pertinent information when people are distraught or injured, isn't exactly a model of efficiency. An app that relays information should include picture, name, location and maybe a heart monitor, this would eliminate precious seconds talking to 911 operators who are annoyed you aren't the epitome of calm while watching a family member die.

If only we could be like Vulcans.

        Spock.

  6. Rich   12 years ago

To be fair, in about two minutes I'd have been screaming at that operator, "English, motherfucker, do you speak it?!"
