The New York Times Person of the Year is... YOU!

    1. db   10 years ago

      ...Headless You

  2. Pompey   10 years ago

Only the finest of brews are Fit to Pint.

    1. Fist of Etiquette   10 years ago

Bok dropped the ball on that. "Fit to punt" would have worked there.

      1. Rich   10 years ago

I believe you mean he *didn't* drop the ball.

    2. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

It's actually an Ice Cream Advert.

  3. Copernicus   10 years ago

    Oh Chip,

The infinite onion layers of subtle nuance.

I love how you don't hit me over the head (but sometimes stab me in the face) with the punchline.

It's true sometimes I am ashamed that I don't "get" such smart humor. I know there must be some deeper meaning beyond the obvious one.

If only there were moar labelz.

  4. Crusty Juggler   10 years ago

    Take that New York Slimes!

    1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

Hey! The New York Slimes have more backbone than the Timed Editorial staff. You take that back.

      1. gaijin   10 years ago

How can the man on the left be standing when he clearly has no backbone?

        1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

          Hydrostatic pressure

          1. db   10 years ago

            He's only partially tumescent.

            1. UnCivilServant   10 years ago

Well, that's because he's constrained by the rigid shell of starched cloth he's been stuffed into.

              1. gaijin   10 years ago

                Excellent work, both of you!

        2. VicRattlehead   10 years ago

the giant fist up his ass that works him like a meat puppet

  5. Slammer   10 years ago

A true ninja would have snuck up behind the editor and the paper and stabbed him in the back. This cartoon is stupid and unrealistic.

    1. VicRattlehead   10 years ago

      .....No true Ninja

Swiss, I thought you might be off swimming in your pile of francs this morning. Glad to see you've still got time for the little people.

        1. Swiss Servator, CHF... genug!   10 years ago

Oh no, as a servant of the Swiss, I have to come up with a lot more dollars now that the franc has rocketed up. Life just got harder.

Far be it from me to defend the NYT, but given the apathy of the Islamist threat to America by many including most libertarians and their government, it is not surprising they would opt out of publishing the cartoons. Internal emails among NYT executives did cite safety of their employees as a reason not to run them.

    South Park had it right:

Cowardliness or prudence? It doesn't matter, the terrorist are winning in the good, ol' USA.

    1. d3x / dt3   10 years ago

So the Islamic Threat is apathetic? That's cool.

      1. David Wall   10 years ago

My subject is dif-e, not grammar. Thanks, d3x /dt3.

    3. Chumby   10 years ago

PBS refused to showcthe new cover on their nightly news. Additional evidence why public funds should no longer be used to subsidize its existence.

      1. plusafdotcom   10 years ago

Yeah, and I heard part of a PBS program where that topic was "debated."

The PBS side was pretty much a defense of Tolerating Intolerance... being 'understanding' of a cult that has made it clear that they want to kill everyone not IN their cult!

Sort of a PBS Suicide Wish.
I just don't understand those folks..

        1. Chumby   10 years ago

I am guessing but I think most folks that watch PBS news and agree with it wouldn't put themselves in the book burning crowd. But yet there they are.

  15. andytaylor454   10 years ago
