Beloit, Wisconsin, Police Chief Norm Jacobs is asking residents to volunteer to let his officers search their homes for guns. He says they should think gun violence as an infectious disease and home inspections as a vaccine.

I, in turn, as the chief to volunteer to have his department's work audited by residents and any troublesome officers removed. Think of it as liposuction.

    1. invisible furry hand   11 years ago

I prefer to think of it as an enema

      1. Adans smith   11 years ago

        or lancing a butt boil

    2. Wicked Skin   11 years ago

Isn't just like draining off the bacon grease?

      1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

        No, bacon grease is useful.

        1. some guy   11 years ago

          So, very useful.

        2. mr lizard   11 years ago

Yep, it's good for pan frying orphans to go with the bacon

  2. Libertarian   11 years ago

Cop, looking for guns: "Are you sure that's a ficus over there? Doesn't look like a ficus. Mind if I take a closer look?"

    1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

"They can print guns these days, so we're going to check your computer too."

    2. Hyperion   11 years ago

Why does it matter if it's a ficus? We thought it looked like pot. So we seized the entire estate without any crime being committed. And nothing else happened.

      1. some guy   11 years ago

Just be glad we seized it on the spot rather than coming back at 3AM in full SWAT gear, tossing a flashbang in your baby crib and shooting your dog of a husband.

        1. mr lizard   11 years ago

I almost missed what you did there

      2. Radioactive   11 years ago

        that's a .357 magnum ficus I'll have you know.

      3. Puddin' Stick   11 years ago

        Cannabis ficus?

  3. Adans smith   11 years ago

Power is much more infectious ,and dangerous.

  4. Monty Crisco   11 years ago

    Follow up to it:
    http://www.wpr.org/beloit-city.....homes-guns

Turns out it wasn't the great idea that the authoritarian statist cocksucker police chief thought it was...

"Gun violence is as serious as the Ebola virus is being represented in the media, and we should fight it using the tools that we've learned from our health providers," he said.

Jacobs said he hopes some searches will result in the discovery of guns they didn't know were in their own homes. He said that there's also a chance they'll find guns linked to crimes.

"That's really what we're looking for," he said. "Maybe we'll find a toy gun that's been altered by a youngster in the house ? and we know the tragedies that can occur there on occasion."

The sheer amount of outright asshattery and bullshit in those three paragraphs leaves me shaking with rage...

  5. Libertarian   11 years ago

    I'll just leave this here...

    2. Rich   11 years ago

      WTF did I just watch?

Is that parody, wildly irresponsible, ... what?

    3. Charles Easterly   11 years ago

      Thanks Libertarian,

I saw that this morning via an e-mail from The Liberty Crier and forwarded it to two friends.

      Here are their responses:

      "Positively stupid idea."

"All common sense right out the window. The people who make these things are more dangerous than the guns."

Also - thanks for the link to The Gateway Pundit. It's a new website for me to look into.

  6. Hyperion   11 years ago

Obama has a pen and a phone. Police chiefs have a pen and a phone. Slime runs downhill.

    1. Adans smith   11 years ago

pen and phone and men with guns

      1. Radioactive   11 years ago

he also has an ass and a hat...drum roll please...making him an asshat!

    2. Steve G   11 years ago

I came to SWAT or chew gum..and I'm all outta gum

      1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

        "Here, have a pack"

        1. Scarecrow Repair   11 years ago

He brought them with him, and they're all itching to throw some flash bangs too.

  7. some guy   11 years ago

"Any arrests made due to things that we find during these searches are also for your own good."

    1. Adans smith   11 years ago

      Well,if it's for the 'greater good',ok then.

      1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

        *droning chant*"The Greater Good."

        1. Adans smith   11 years ago

the chant of tyrants ever where

          1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

            And the Neighbourhood Watch Alliance.

Quick, someone reset AnonBot. The resistance must live!

  9. nailzer   11 years ago

This is a person the swears to uphold the constitution?

    1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

Well, he did ask instead of issuing a general warrent. So he's not technically in violation of the constitution, he's just an asshole.

    2. Steve G   11 years ago

Yes, yes, and he plans on keeping that oath...like some sort of.. Oathkeeper or something.

  10. Rebel Scum   11 years ago

He says they should think gun violence privacy and presumption of innocence as an infectious disease and home inspections as a vaccine.

  11. Rich   11 years ago

Jacobs said he hopes some searches will result in the discovery of guns they didn't know were in their own homes.

Well, *I* hope one search will result in the discovery of Jimmy Hoffa.

And I trust Jacobs will allow his home to be searched for evidence of possible sheep fucking, as serious as the Ebola virus.

    1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

Well, where do you think the scourge of weresheep came from?

      1. Charles Easterly   11 years ago

        I see Sheep People.

      2. Radioactive   11 years ago

from cops with Ebola fucking sheep? or cops fucking sheep with Ebola?

  12. Ted S.   11 years ago

If the cops have done nothing wrong, they should have nothing to hide.

  13. prolefeed   11 years ago

I'm wondering if anyone is going to actually take up this offer.

I mean, who volunteers to let their house be searched for evidence that you've committed a crime? Or to have your entirely legal guns confiscated?

Or is this a prank article?

  14. The Laconic   11 years ago

I think of busy-bodiness as an infectious disease, and a knuckle sandwich as a vaccine.

  15. sarcasmic   11 years ago

Who the fuck has guns that they don't know about?

    1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

I keep forgetting about one of the .22s every so often. Fortunately they're stored together, so it's not going to turn up in an unexpected place.

      1. Radioactive   11 years ago

you store your .22 up your ass?

        1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

What? That non-sequiteur doesn't even make sense.

        2. sarcasmic   11 years ago

          You don't?

          1. Radioactive   11 years ago

            only my 9mm.

            1. Radioactive   11 years ago

sort of an extreme form of cc.

  16. sarcasmic   11 years ago

Who knew that the previous owner, a WWII vet, hid a BAR in the basement wall?

  17. Piso Mojado   11 years ago

Depends on how much you want to emulate the Branch Dravidians.

  18. sarcasmic   11 years ago

but they just never seem to quit.

Authoritarians never do. And over time, incrementally, they always win.

  19. Charles Easterly   11 years ago

Constant vigilance is necessary, and I agree with the Tundrarian here about the importance of Second Amendment groups. They help keep ordinary citizens aware of the most recent anti-defense efforts of "gun control" groups.

  20. Meriwether   11 years ago

I tried to start a 3A group two years back. Nobody thought it was "relevant".

  21. sarcasmic   11 years ago
