Brickbat: No One Goes There Anymore
Llanfynydd Primary in Wales has no students. The last of its 11 pupils departed months ago. But it is still open and has most of its staff. Local officials say they don't expect to close the school until the end of the school year in 2015. That's because the Welsh government requires a formal review before any school can be closed and that process is expected to take a few more months to complete.

We have procedures people! Without procedures we're just animals!

Dammit UCS! I came here to make the same joke.

The budget is so lean they don't have enough funding to buy vowels.
It's welsh, the laguage is mostly Phlegm anyway.
Then wouldn't they speak phlegmish?
They do, it's just that in phlegmish, the name for the language sounds like 'welsh'
Clanvainaith is the approximate phonetic spelling of Llanfynydd. Welsh has plenty of vowels, English doesn't have enough letters for them all.
Doesn't the UK also have hospitals swarming with administrators yet no doctors or patients?
When money flows to those who trade not in goods but in favors...you know the rest.
I know Yes, Minister sounds like a documentary, but unless you can turn up a link, I swear St. Edward's Hosptial isn't really real.
I distinctly remember someone was parodying the NHS in a movie or TV show and in doing research for it discovered that such hospitals really exist.
I am too lazy to look it up.
Sounds like Canada.
The US should have schools like that. We need JOBS!
GHOST SCHOOLS FOR GHOST JOBS!
That's how post offices work in the states.
That's how post offices work in the states.
Didn't they shut a lot of post offices in the US a few years back?
My stepbrother delivers mail and jokes that when they shut down a post office, the managers retain their jobs. Get a job as a manager in the post office, and you've got a job for life. They get rid of some Indians here and there, but the waste is in all the chiefs.
"the Welsh government requires a formal review before any school can be closed "
And, God forbid, they welsh on the deal!
