Developing: CNN Calls Mitch McConnell Win in Kentucky
Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell has won re-election in Kentucky, staving off Democratic challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes, according to a CNN projection. Republicans expect McConnell to lead the Senate if his party wins control of the upper chamber.
Polls are beginning to close on the East Coast in the midterm elections and President Barack Obama is already sounding gloomy about the Democrats' chances of hanging on to the Senate.
