Re: Amazon as publishing enabler. You are right as far as it goes: yes many people are publishing and making money doing so, but the amount of crap (which is also waste) foisted upon the public is in ridiculous proportion compared to the paste, where publishers , to a certain extent were able to filter the crap out. And since the majority of publishers are credentialed and usually relatively well-educated, we were spared the sifting through to get to the decently edited publications. Of course, this is a double-edged sword, but I trust the publishers far above Mr. Bezos, who is essentially just another egomaniac, control-freak, albeit a brilliant one.
