David Cameron Tells Scotland: 'We Want You to Stay'
In a sign of growing anxiety that Scotland's vote for independence might prevail next week, British Prime Minister David Cameron will travel to Edinburgh Wednesday to deliver a message to the Scottish people: "We want you to stay" in the United Kingdom.
The prime minister made the announcement Tuesday in a joint Facebook post with Britain's two other political party leaders, Ed Miliband of Labor and Nick Clegg of the Liberal Democrats.
"There is a lot that divides us —but there's one thing on which we agree passionately: the United Kingdom is better together," the three main party leaders wrote Tuesday.
"That's why all of us are agreed the right place for us to be tomorrow is in Scotland, not at Prime Minister's Questions (PMQs) in Westminster. We want to be listening and talking to voters about the huge choices they face," they said.
