Gene Healy on Homeland Security's Move to an Insane Asylum


The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is working on the biggest federal construction project since the Pentagon. The project–featuring amenities like eco-friendly "rainwater toilets" and sustainable Brazilian hardwood decking–is running at least a decade late and over a billion dollars short. Gene Healy notes that move will put DHS on the site of an old insane asylum and suggests it's fitting for the ever-growing monstrosity of the department.
