Michigan State University was briefly locked down after someone reported seeing a man with rifle at Bessey Hall. The man turned out to be an ROTC student with a ceremonial, replica rifle. Bessey Hall is where the ROTC program is located.

Make people's lives so inconvenient every time somebody sees a gun, and that will make more people want to say the hell with it and ban guns. Or at least, I believe that's the thinking. It's not going to work of course, those who want guns will still be able to get them no matter what.

The man turned out to be an ROTC student with a ceremonial, replica rifle.

All the students were signed up for years of counselling anyway to help them get over this awful trauma.

I liked the part where the paper says the kids went into survival mode and pointed to this tweet: You haven't panicked until a cop with an M-16 tells your class to get on the ground because there's someone with a gun in the hall.

This is why you sshould always remember the /sarc tag!

See, I would have tweeted something like: Holy fuck! There's now 20 guys with guns outside Bessey Hall!

I presume the student was quickly expelled with prejudice for bringing a weapon onto school grounds!

    1. UnCivilServant   11 years ago

No, justice snuck in and they sent the overreacting employees for retraining, and expelled the panicky student.

      /end sarcasm

They probably went "Pay no attention to the agenda behind the curtain."

        a ROTC NAZI ?!?!?! Obviously a racist.

The school gave another $100 million to the African American / Gender Studies program to help offset this egregious offense.

Looks like they managed to get the alt-text expelled, however.
