This seems like a good place to ask you guys to recommend novels to read. I want to read more, especially fiction, but every time I'm in the bookstore, none of it looks worthwhile. (We don't have much of a bookstore in my town)

I don't read much fiction, but I enjoyed those books. Now, if you want a recommendation for a book about the history of banking in the US, I've got a few.

Before she became a published author, Anne emigrated to the United States to work in film. She co-produced the Emmy-winning documentary FIRE AND ICE: THE WINTER WAR OF FINLAND AND RUSSIA and holds a Ph.D. in the History of Ideas from Aarhus University, Denmark.

And there are all kinds of pictures on her website showing Ms. Fortier doing biathalon type stuff. She is quite a striking woman.

According to the Seattle Times, the United States lags far behind other industrial nations [government funded] industrial job training. Also, unemployment benefits are running out.

Now here's the game I propose for my fellow H&R'ers. Read the following two paragraphs and see if YOU can spot the real problem here:

Naomi Ruden has a degree in sculpture from the University of Washington. She's been unemployed since being laid off as office manager for University Baptist Church in Seattle five months ago.

Daniel McKee studied printmaking and photography at Western Washington University. He has not earned a full-time paycheck since losing his job as a manager and custom framer at Aaron Brothers in Issaquah in July.
