Beyonce Defends Use of Challenger Mission Control Audio in New Album
"Major malfunction"
Beyonce's responded to the furious criticism she attracted for using audio footage from the 1986 Challenger space shuttle disaster in her XO track from her recently released album.
"Flight controllers here looking very carefully at the situation. Obviously a major malfunction," a NASA official said as the wreckage from the shuttle fell to earth live on TV - and which is sampled at the start of Beyonce's song.
Now the singer has said she only meant it with "the sincerest intention".
