The Spanish government has recommended increasing fines for unauthorized street protests up to 600,000 euros. The maximum fine would apply only if protests turn violent, but those who cover their faces or who make offensive remarks against the country could be fined up to 30,000 euros. The measure now goes to parliament.

This is the result of a kind of Lysenkoism. Socialist politicians invent new contracts to award to their cronies until they overload the boat. They are then shocked that the damn thing wont float, that the laws of physics do not comply with the needs of the party, so they blame it on the engineers.

My first imagining was that the engineers protested during this process, but then I figured only party approved engineers got the jobs. Chances are they were reassuring the pols the whole time that they could make it work.
