Was pulled off a plane on his way out of the country
The 40th day of captivity for U.S. Army veteran Merrill Newman brought little hope for family and friends seeking his release from custody in North Korea.
The frustrations of Newman's love ones were reflected in a Facebook post Thursday on the "Free Merrill Newman from North Korea" Facebook page, which is operated by a family friend:
