Global Temperature Trend Update - November 2013

Every month University of Alabama in Huntsville climatologists John Christy and Roy Spencer report the latest global temperature trends from satellite data. Below are the newest data updated through November 2013:
Global Temperature Report: November 2013
Global climate trend since Nov. 16, 1978: +0.14 C per decade
November temperatures (preliminary)
Global composite temp.: +0.19 C (about 0.34 degrees Fahrenheit) above 30-year average for November.
Northern Hemisphere: +0.16 C (about 0.29 degrees Fahrenheit) above 30-year average for November.
Southern Hemisphere: +0.23 C (about 0.41 degrees Fahrenheit) above 30-year average for November.
Tropics: +0.02 C (about 0.04 degrees Fahrenheit) above 30-year average for November.
(All temperature anomalies are based on a 30-year average (1981-2010) for the month reported.)

I'm still wondering why the 2010 El Nino temperature spike doesn't get labelled as such.
I'm also still seeing temperatures flatlined since 2001 or thereabouts. I'm curious as to which model predicted that, or which model explains it.
You're too dependent on models. Sometimes in science you have to go with your heart.
Silly FoE, in science you go by CONSENSUS!
None of the models predicted it, which in any case of real science would indicate that the theory the models were based on had been falsified.
Was it every a theory or just a bad hypothesis?
You're right, bad hypothesis would be more accurate.
looking back, it looks like the seas stopped rising in 2009 when Hummer closed. Mission Accomplished.
None of the models predicted it
Not even Miranda Kerr?
Not even Kate Upton, sadly.

I'll just drop this here.
I just found it to be interesting, thought I'd share.
If it's not going up it's going down. Either way is doomsday. This has been happening ever since we invented thermometers.
We need to ban thermometers. People are just not responsible enough to handle them.
Imagine if every day, some moron charted the temperature between 6:00AM and 1:00PM and declared that if the trend is consistent, we will all boil by Tuesday.
Then between 1:00 and 4:00 he calmed down for a few hours but in the evening he started predicting we would all freeze by the weekend.
This has been the history of the last century and a half of climate science.
Deniers! Deniers! We have been told many times by Top. Men. that the sun has absolutely NOTHING to do with climate! Nothing! Man is the only thing driving climate! The science is settled! Al Gore has spoken! The Volcano god is angry!
I saw a "Being Human" episode of NOVA recently where they sneaked in some AGW mention, all while noting a theory that human exceptionalism may be a result of the rapid climate change going on in Africa a few million years ago (dry spells, followed by very wet spells, followed by dry spells). Interesting that far more radical changes than are occurring today were a good thing then, but a nasty, bad thing now.
So we are back to the '70s era ice age scare? If only climatologists had the balls to admit that they don't have enough information to understand everything. The physicists have been admitting that for years, and they're doing alright.

It's not only them; I still see stories about "OVERPOPULATION!".

What's the date on that?
Beats me, I just googled it. It references a 2007 article so probably about 5 years old.
Lorenz came up with his chaos theory stuff back in the 60's I think. It is mathematical proof what the climatologists claim they are doing is actually impossible to do. It has caught on and been validated in all sorts of different fields - except meteorology and climate science.
It's ironic because that's where the theory started but the meteorologists don't want to hear it.
"If only climatologists had the balls to admit that they don't have enough information to understand ANYthing."
FTFY
Cold snap felt across western half of nation.
HELENA, Mont. (AP) ? A wintry storm pushing through the western half of the country is bringing bitterly cold temperatures that prompted safety warnings for residents in the Rockies and threatened crops as far south as California..
Areas of Montana and the Dakotas were forecast to reach lows in the minus-20s, while parts of California could see the thermometer drop to the 20s. The icy arctic blast was expected to be followed by another one later in the week, creating an extended period of cold weather that hasn't been seen since the late 1990s, meteorologists said.
Cold = Weather
Warm = Climate
Derp = Science
