US Adults Fall Behind Other Countries in Literacy, Basic Math
According to a recent report
Adults in the U.S. fall behind many of their developed-world counterparts in such basic areas as math, reading and problem-solving using technology, according to a newly released report authored by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies surveyed 166,000 adults in 24 countries ranging in age from 16 to 65 years old.
In each of the main areas, adults in more than a dozen countries, including Japan, Finland, Australia and Canada, consistently scored higher than the United States, which ranked below average or near the bottom in almost every category.

When you look at the caliber of individuals who tend to win elected office, this should surprise no one.

Oh c'mon, this tripe is decades old by now. And questionable at best. "Shovel a few billion more into the Teacher's Unions now, please."
In any case Americans make more money than their foreign counter parts. Which must prove that making money is dumb.
Also, foreigners are too smart to be dumb enough to learn how to make more money than Americans. Which must prove that being smart isn't everything.
Now send your money to the unions so we can get on with it.
