Nick Gillespie on CSPAN at 7.45am ET today
If you're awake, catch me on CSPAN at 7.45, talking news of the day from a libertarian POV.

Cosmotarian, you mean
Oh, this isn't in high def on Dish? Yuck.
Whoa, cut Linda right off.
Lindsey Graham here cut Mike off right before he got to the word towelhead.
Why does Gillespie refuse to wear a tie? Even on CSPAN??? How can I take his nonconformist ideas seriously when he does that?
About face on Syria? We won't know that until Obama either does or doesn't go ahead alone with his "idiotic" bombings.
I don't think it's fair to use Joe Biden's words against him.
True, even Biden does not know what his mouth will say next.
Ugh, a caller. This is now officially the worst.
I think this will be a limited engagement simply because the missile attack on Syria is only to help Obama out of a painted corner.
I doubt congressional Republicans will take any political hit by opposing Syrian attacks. If for no other reason than McCain is for it.
What is it with McCain? He seems to have gone completely off the reservation s far as using the military, showing all the understanding of a NYC liberal, as if they could actually accomplish anything in Syria other than rile up everybody and his dog. I used to think he at least understood how militaries work and their practical limitations. I don't watch TV; has he gone senile like Feinstein? Or has he just been a politician too long and begun believing himself and lost touch with reality?
He's no longer courting an antiwar press during a Republican administration. He's trying to pander to various interests.
But to push for using the military in a situation where it cannot accomplish what he claims to want -- it's not a Libya no-fly zone, it's not Iraq or Afghanistan where at least the enemeies were plausibly identifiable. Here there is no such enemy -- it's either all of them or none of them. He must know boots on the ground is absolutely pointless. They couldn't even begin to capture chemical weapon dumps. The chemical weapon dumps can't even be bombed properly. He must know this -- anyone with any military knowledge must recognize this. Obama, sure, he's as ignorant as any Chicago politician about weapons and military. But McCain? I do not understand him any longer.
He fancies himself a hero because he killed dusky people in distant lands.
Remember also he went to Syria and bonded with al Qaeda kidnappers there.
Yes, but that is just another symptom. What made him go off the rails as to what a military can actually accomplish? When did he lose touch with that aspect of reality?
I really am curious. I don't watch TV, so I don't follow any politicians except what various news sites report on, and they don't cover McCain as much as Obama. Last time I paid attention to him on close to a daily basis was the 2008 election.
Since being a naval aviator and prisoner of war, he's been a politician. Who knows if we ever got his real ideas on military interventions or anything else.
Despite Gillespie's pleas to move from the horse race of Obama's campaign to bomb Syria, CSPAN is staying with the politics of it.
"I'm hoping to see that the Democrats do not fall into a lockstep party line on this..."
Well, this is the party of hope now.
Shameless Daily Beast plug.
ZIONISTS!
Barack Obama allowed himself to be seen as the anti-war candidate in 2007? I wonder if any libertarian rags saw him as that at the time.
Good zing on Reid.
The UK failed to pass a resolution on Syria? Or refused to pass a resolution?
Rejected would be even more accurate.
"Neither should we feel somehow responsible for bringing change to every aspect of the globe through military power..."
So what Gillespie is saying is that the State Department should get the checkbook back out.
PRESIDENT OBAMA IS THE GREATEST.
The greatest what?
Nemesis of Nicole.
Oh, McCain getting indignant over the al Qaeda connection.
SHAMELESS BOOK PLUG.
And Gillespie is ushered out the door.
Dragged out kicking and screaming would have been more fun.
Good job Nick.
I especially liked it when you called out the Neo-Con pundits for consistently being wrong. And when you pointed out that Obama is a pathological liar.
And thanks to FoE for the live blogging!
I was just making random comments. I don't even own a television.

If you read FoE comments while watching The Wizard of Oz, they match up!
Creepy.

There are two Jackets: the CSPAN Jacket and the Politically Incorrect Jacket.

Are you even watching this? He makes a III or IV kinds of crazy sense, at least.
At least if you argue with Anonbot, you're more likely to get an intelligent response than if you argue with Shreeky.
