Forensic Scientist's Resignation Casts Shadow Over Chinese Politician's Trial

Not that it won't go forward

One of China's leading forensic scientists has quit, castigating the judicial system, as it was announced the trial of Bo Xilai's will take place on Thursday.

Wang Xuemei, a forensic expert at the Supreme People's Procuratorate, China's top prosecutor's office, is the only senior official to have cast doubt over the case against the Bo family.

A video in which she announced her resignation was released just hours before the Chinese authorities stated that Mr Bo's trial would take place next Thursday morning at the Intermediate court in Jinan, Shandong province.
