Cassini Takes Deep Space Photo of Earth

Two NASA spacecraft, flying millions of miles away from home, have sent back portraits of Earth.

NASA's Cassini spacecraft took this image of Saturn and its rings with Earth in the background last week. Earth, which is 898 million miles away, appears as a blue dot at center right, while the moon can be seen as a fainter protrusion off its right side. For everyone who ran outside to wave and smile for the cameralast Thursday, well, you didn't quite make it into the picture, unless you can spy yourself in what looks like a bright spot in the dark heavens.
