Pakistani President's Security Chief Killed in Suicide Bombing
Two others dead
Three people, including the chief security officer (CSO) of President Asif Zardari, were killed and another 10 sustained injuries when a suicide bomber blew himself up near the CSO's vehicle at Guru Mandir on Wednesday.
According to reports, Bilal Sheikh stopped near a fruit shop at Guru Mandir to buy fruits when a suicide bomber blew himself up. Sheikh, his driver, Imran Zaidi, and a fruit vendor, identified as Shakil, died on the spot and 10 others, including six policemen, were injured.
The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has condemned the killing and announced a day of mourning on Thursday (today). Black flags would be hoisted at the party offices and workers would wear black armbands. However, public transport, shops, petrol pumps and CNG stations would remain open.
