Brickbat: The Bronx Bomber

|

Teachers at Bronx Intermediate School 232 say principal Neifi Juan Acosta threatened to blow the school up during a rant filled with Biblical allusions at a staff meeting. The New York City Education Department is investigating the claims, but police say they don't believe it was a threat.

  1. “I don’t understand how he is still here,” said one of the teachers who was at the Nov. 2 meeting.

    Ask the union.

  2. Yet, if some kid mentioned a bomb the school would be on lockdown, the kid would be charged with some crime and other students rights would be violated during the inevitable search for the “bomb”.

    1. Reminds me of that eight-grader who got suspended for refusing to remove his NRA shirt. The spineless cunt of a principal called the cops on him, and he was charged with ‘obstructing an officer’ for his defiance. That’s up to a year in juvenile detention.

      What utter, hellish retardation we’ve reached. Fuck public schools.

      1. Contempt of cop can carry a the penalty of summary execution. I’m surprised that option wasn’t exercised. The kid was obviously very dangerous, as he had pictures of guns on his shirt.

    2. ‘kid mentioned a bomb’? How about kid pointing his finger in the shape of gun? He’d get an unscheduled vacation out of it. Even the principal didn’t that much.

    3. All the kids at that school should start frequently quoting their principal’s “one day I’m going to blow up the school” line so we can see what happens.

  3. It’s worth RTFA – highlights include:

    * “He was ranting about how he was under stress, but he often yells and rants, so people ignore him.”

    * his ride – silver Mercedes S500

    * his salary – $143,426

    * the “impressive” test scores

    * the inspirational posters he puts up around school

    * his odd attitudes towards female students

    1. Wow, principal’s rides have come along way. My high school principal drove an 86 Buick Park Avenue. In 1997.

  4. Idiots go ape-shit if a kid chews a pop tart into the shape of a gun, but they ignore a bureaucrat saying he’s going to blow up the school?

    1. Some animals are more equal than others.

  5. HOLY FUCK YOU GUYS IT’S A DIRECT LINK TO A STORY AND DOESN’T GOT TO REASON 24/7 OMG OMG OMG I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON I’M SO EXCITED.

    1. Maybe Lucy can help Charles get a new job when certain people notice this mistake.

    2. Speaking of 24/7, that story about Gawker getting sued by some interns for violating minimum wage laws is pretty funny. There’s a word fo that…

  6. The city started interviewing witnesses in January after complaints were filed against Acosta, who frequently peppers his staff talks with Biblical phrases.

    The probe has dragged on since then, several teachers said.

    Such investigations often take up to three years to conclude. Acosta is unlikely to be removed while it’s ongoing unless he’s deemed an immediate safety threat, according to the Department of Education.

    ZERO TOLERANCE

    1. Acosta is unlikely to be removed

      Awwww. No paid vacation? He’s in the wrong union.

  7. “… and then he said those four words ? vest, bomb, cafeteria and teachers. Really creepy.”

    And which of those four can do the most damage?

  8. “I AM THE HNIC!”
