Baylen Linnekin on Menu Labeling at Fast Food and Chain Restaurants
From studies that look at whether food logos make kids fat to ones that examine whether alcohol is the new soda, much research in the area of food law and policy isn't worth the paper it's printed on. The latest dubious example comes from the Journal of Public Health, where researchers look at "the proportion of youth who reported using calorie information when available at fast food/chain restaurants." As Baylen Linnekin reports, the study raises more questions than it answers and, more troubling, may contain serious flaws.
