Pat Robertson Says Tornado Victims Didn't Pray Enough (Update: Referring to 2012 Tornado)
God totally would have stopped it if folks were more Christian-ly
Reason 24/7 note: Pat Robertson's comments were made a year ago, referring to tornadoes that struck the Midwest in March of 2012. We apologize for any confusion resulting from erroneously posting this story after the tragedy in Oklahoma.
Televangelist Pat Robertson was asked [in March 2012] on the '700 Club' about the tornadoes that have ravaged the Midwest and killed at least twelve people (video below).
He said that the storms weren't an act of God, but instead turned it around on the victims, asking, "Why did you build houses where tornadoes were apt to happen?"
Robertson said the tornadoes may not have happened if enough victims had prayed: "If enough people were praying He would've intervened, you could pray, Jesus stilled the storm, you can still storms."

This article is from March of 2012. Not saying Pat Robertson isn't a vile human being, just that this particular bit of vile is outdated.
Robertson is more pro-pot than Obama.
I'm almost certain that a tragedy that takes the lives of children would never have been blamed on a lack of prayer by Jesus. Which one sounds more likely:
Option 1(Jesus): "Yeah, well, you guys didn't pray enough and, well, I wrought destruction upon innocent children."
Option 2(Pat Robertson): "Yeah, well, you guys didn't pray enough and, well, Jesus allowed destruction to befall your innocent children."
I vote for option 2.
Just in: I spoke to Jesus and he said Pat's a self-righteous...
Wow, Reason staff. You guys have been reheating quite a bit of old news lately. Maybe you should follow the links and double check the dates before you post something in the 24/7 news feed. Don't be so eager to report some dumb ass thing Pat Robertson said that you make yourselves look foolish. Wait ten minutes and he'll give you some fresh material.
