Tsarnaev May Face Death Penalty, Give Me Your … Medically Credentialed, Merkel Sees a More Centralized Europe: P.M. Links

-
Jonas Bergsten The "weapon of mass destruction" charge lodged against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev potentiaally carries the death penalty. He'll be tried in civilian court, by the way, and not as an enemy combatant. Shockingly, he and his brother didn't bother getting licenses for the guns they used to battle police.
- Banning political advertisements is not a violation of human rights, claims the European Court of Human Rights. Hey, Europe … I do not think "human rights" means what you think it means.
- Authorities have so far found no evidence of ricin, or even of research into making ricin, at the home of the man accused of mailing poisoned letters to the president, a senator and a judge.
- An immigration bill being hammered out in D.C. includes incentives to attract foreign physicians to the U.S. Well, who else will work for Medicaid-level compensation?
- Eurozone members, says German Chancellor Angela Merkel, should be prepared to surrender some sovereignty as Europe seeks to regain stability. Insert Godwinning comment here.
- Flight attendants are still upset that airline passengers are again allowed to keep their Swiss Army knives with them when they board their flights. Truly, that is the first tiny, tiny nick in the edifice of American security.

The "weapon of mass destruction" charge lodged against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev...
Apparently the bomb making plans weren't anyone's intellectual property, or he'd be in real trouble.
Exactly what counts as a weapon of mass destruction? The bombs they used didn't seem to be extremely powerful? I mean, they aren't levelling city blocks or even taking down buildings. So, what exactly, counts as one? Something that goes "boom"?
Then again, proglodytes think that guns are WMDs.
I heard a definition on some MSM outlet the other day to the effect that a WMD is anything capable of killing multiple people.
So, yes.
Does that make my first weapons of mass destruction?
A literal reading of Section 921 indicates that this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charleville_musket
is a WMD.
18 USC 921 (a)(4)(B)
(B) any type of weapon (other than a shotgun or a shotgun shell which the Attorney General finds is generally recognized as particularly suitable for sporting purposes) by whatever name known which will, or which may be readily converted to, expel a projectile by the action of an explosive or other propellant, and which has any barrel with a bore of more than one-half inch in diameter
That makes no sense - unless they are calling the pressure cooker a barrel.
One-quarter ounce? So, a bottle rocket?
Not saying it's a good law, but that does pretty clearly apply to the pressure cooker bomb.
That last part is a little disconcerting. A device 'similar' to any of the devices described above? Given that a crude drawing of a gun is sufficiently similar to a real gun to trigger the zero-tolerance rules against grade-school kids, may God have mercy on the soul of any child terrorist bringing a drawing of a bomb to class.
NO - that's what is defined as a *destructive device* - its not the definition of WMD.
To call a small bomb a WMD basically distorts the definition so out of whack that its meaningless now - like the definition of terrorism.
On a side note - if that bomb is a WMD then the US military has been pretty effectively disarmed as WMD use is pretty severely restricted if not completely illegal for certain classes of WMD (chem/bio weapons) by treaty.
Yes, but the WMD definition incorporates everything in the DD defintion:
Predator drones carry weapons of mass destruction. The US is using WMD in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Yemen. Etc.
Geometry teachers carry weapons of math destruction.
According to this definition, the hand grenades Uncle Sam issued me were WMD's. I had a whole case of them in my Humvee.
The Nation of Islam styles him its "Supreme Captain" ? a potential successor to his controversial father, Minister Louis Farrakhan.
But when he's working for the Harvey Police Department, Mustapha Farrakhan is just a regular part-time cop. If, that is, he's actually working for the Harvey Police Department.
Farrakhan, 52, certainly has a police badge from the crime-plagued south suburb.
He drives an unmarked Harvey Police squad car, complete with flashing police lights, and parks it outside his home at night. And he's been registered with the state as a gun-carrying Harvey cop since 2006. But he hasn't worked a single shift in more than four years, according to state records. If he's ever made an arrest, Harvey's police chief is unwilling to discuss it.
Officer Farrakhan does, though, appear to do "police work" off-duty, more than a dozen miles outside Harvey city limits, in Chicago, where he uses his Harvey squad car's lights to stop traffic and escorts his father's unofficial motorcade, a Chicago Sun-Times investigation has found.
The unusual arrangement that allows him to carry a concealed gun into places where regular citizens can't, and to drive a police car, despite apparently failing to do regular police work for the suburb that employs him, may be especially useful to the man who leads the Nation of Islam's "Fruit of Islam" security detail.

Some pigs are more equal than others.
What you did there...I see it.
"Fruit of Islam"
*snicker*
It is special underwear Nation members wear. They got the idea from the Mormons.
Apparently it's the fig.
Some *figs* are more equal than others.
Is that Harvey, as in Illinois? Somebody get Tom Dreesen on the case immediately!
That's some quality butt raping you are receiving by your public employee betters tax paying civilians of Illinois.
And in January, a federal jury awarded $600,000 to former Harvey cop Alex Gbur, who it found was sent out to face gunfire without his K-9 partner in an unsafe squad car as revenge for his support of one of Kellogg's political opponents.
Hmmm.
It's not Cap'n Crunch, is it?
What's with all this #FreeJarJar stuff?
People who claim there are 3 more Star Wars movies.
Attack of the Clones is the best SW ever! #FreeJarJar!!11!
I need a ruling: What's worse, the Star Wars sequels or deep dish?
*prequels
There are 3 Star Wars movies and 3 Indiana Jones movies.
Yeah, and it was a real shame they never finished up the Godfather saga with a really good third movie.
And one Highlander movie.
Only one Matrix movie and 2 Superman movies also.
When are they going to make a Fantastic Four movie? That could be so cool. Why's hadn't any one thought of that yet?
Highlander: "There should have been only ONE!"
Ask Disney how they plan to rape the corpse Lucas killed, I dunno.
Princess Leia is now officially a Disney Princess.
Fap worthy, she is
I think the pre-sobriety Carrie Fisher would have fit in well with the likes of Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato.
I predict the post-sobriety Miley and Demi will mirror Carrie Fisher as well.
Banning political advertisements is not a violation of human rights, claims the European Court of Human Rights.
Have you seen some political adverts? Not banning them would be a violation of human rights!
think about it
Whenever I hear "think about it" I think about Conspiracy Brother from Undercover Brother.
Woman = Wo'man = Woe to Man.
See, anyone can play this game.
I try to use the phrase "rule of thumb" around feminists to see if it can trigger a rant.
No luck so far.
nice
Think about this: "MENstruation".
"...and then go throw up."
Because bulimia is the quickest way to land a man?
If he's a vomiting fetishist, yes.
Just watched Game of Thrones. Shit's crazy. I don't know if I like what they've done with the Theon story. Dany's big move was awesome. I forgot how much I loved the Queen of Thorns though. Plus the Hound and all. Serious fanboy squee going on over here right now.
NO SPOILERS I haven't seen last night's episode yet.
SECONDED. In the game of spoilers, you spoil and you die.
In Soviet Russia, spoiler alerts YOU!
Tyrion got drunk and slept with Cersei.
Turns out the Others are really Norwegions.
Which one is Tyrion?
Eddard Stark's oldest son.
You don't think Dany's trick was a little too easy?
Yeah, without giving away too much detail I was surprised that the slavers didn't have some kind of fail-safe to prevent what she pulled.
But then again they were blinded by their greed at the prospect of owning a dragon, so I can buy it.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS
I mean that's exactly how it worked in the book. She had the money to buy all of them, and the slavers in their greed didn't think through the ramifications of her having every single soldier in the city under her command.
Don't get me wrong, I still love the series and like Dany's character arc, but it seems like she hasn't had any real challenges since she dealt with the creepy brother, seduced Genghis Khal, and led the Mongolthraki across the Sinai to Byzantium. If I understand the historical allusions correctly.
Well now she faces the huge challenge of marching 8000+ people across the desert, finding enough ships to get them to her homeland, and still have them in fighting condition when they get there.
I say if she's lucky she'll land with less than 2k troops left, shitting themselves to death with dysentery.
Democrat opens 9-point lead in R +11 district against Mark Sanford in SC House election to replace Tim Scott.

Really? They are running Stephen Colbert's sister? She makes Joe the Plumber look like a serious candidate.
Lesson to GOP - quit nominating scumbags. Is that hard to grasp?
Why? It's worked for the Democrats for decades!
Bill Clinton and Robert Byrd were paragons of moral virtue.
Clinton left his wife for some South American tail?
When?
So he got a BJ from an intern to relive political stress?
Who wouldn't?
The important thing is that the Clinton marriage is intact in the view of the Lawd/Pope/Billy Goat Graham (fill in deity here).
Who wouldn't?
While I don't happen to be one of them, there are a lot of people who wouldn't. Many you would call "christfag" because you fear what you do not understand, which is almost everything.
Let me get this straight. Cheating with hot South American=scumbag.
Cheating with ugly intern = totally okay
You're unbelievably stupid.
Not quite.
Cheating with hot South American = scumbag.
Cheating with ugly intern, then committing perjury by denying said cheating in a lawsuit predicated on a pattern of cheating with ugly interns = totally okay.
See, just cheating on your wife makes you a scumbag. Cheating on your wife and then lying about it publicly, repeatedly and under oath to the point where you become the victim in the whole affair makes you a successful politician.
Look you fucking idiot, this is a libertarian website and we don't give two fucks from Thursday about Mark Sanford.
Get. A. Fucking. Clue.
Fuck you, you partisan dipshit. Libertarians do care about elections no matter who is favored.
Well, thanks for letting me know what libertarians care about. What do you care about?
Are you questioning his bonafides? He scored a 94 on the Buttplug Freedom Index.
He cares about being heard.
Seriously, dick, go troll Hot Air or something. They'll love you there, promise.
Far-right sites reject the Truth I bring and quickly ban me.
A classic liberal like myself (or Ayn Rand at William F. Buckley's place) is quickly rejected by the proto-fascist GOP.
damn, I 'bout fell out of my chair reading that.
It is true. Buckley hated Ayn Rand and she hated conservatives for their hatred of freedom.
Goddamn, I love how you buy into your own mythology.
"This is great stuff. I could make a career out of this guy! You see how clever his part is? How it doesn't require a shred of proof? Most paranoid delusions are intricate, but this is brilliant!"

I enjoy how you fit termiinator quotes into the discussion. It cracks me up, so TY. Best one so far though for me is the SOCON one.
Far-right sites reject the Truth I bring and quickly ban me.
No, 5th grade math quickly bans you.
Have you tried Beano? That shit works wonders.
Authorities have so far found no evidence of ricin, or even of research into making ricin, at the home of the man accused of mailing poisoned letters to the president, a senator and a judge.
#FreeTheRicinDudeWhateverHisNameIs
Have they looked for it at the Brothers' Tsarnaev place, though, eh?
How long before screwed up women start sending him love letters?
Soon as they figure out an address.
Just omit the return address on the envelope.
That Democrat bumper sticker made all the evidence disappear.
Look behind the bumper sticker!
I don't know about whether it had any influence on the a discovery of evidence, but it sure did make the story disappear.
Dem mayors and governors act like catty high-schoolers in response to Gov Perry courting their businesses.
Perry's trolling of liberal states is great.
Perry only has to spend chump change on ad buys because dumbasses like Rahm make it news. Why spend money when your opponents make it into news and get you all the free publicity you could want?
Seriously, Rahm and everyone else is getting chumped by Perry. Hard to maintain your delusions of liberal superiority when you're getting played so throughly.
The fact that Rahm Emanuel is considered to be a tough guy shows you just how pathetic our political class is.
Truly pathetic. He is supposed to have physically intimidated people. The creepy Ginger who put out the "Obama Cares" tweet with it written on his hands is considered a Washington tough guy too. If either one of those clowns tried to assault me I would die laughing.
So, you're saying they'd succeed?
In a way but not quite the way they would intend too.
That's no good. Who gives a shit about the results if the intentions were wrong?
To be fairish, wasn't Rahmy supposed to be naked at the time? I wouldn't want Little Rahm rubbing on me, either.
Tiny dancer was naked in the shower. And yeah, that would creep me the fuck out too.
How much of a pussified bizzaro world is DC where some guy gets a rep as a tough guy for rubbing all over some dude in the locker room.
Because here outside the Beltway, you would just be known as a fucking weirdo.
Pretty much. And he would have gotten his ass kicked on top of it. This place really is horrible.
Not too mention you'd probably get your ass kicked.
He may be a ballerina, but he cusses like a sailor.
I think the real take away is that Rahm Emanuel thinks there are no colleges in Texas. I'm confused by what he's getting at.
Listen, UC used to be a bastion of Liberal Arts back when that meant something, and it is still a damn fine school. But anyone who doesn't think that UT has serious chops among a far broader field of educational degrees is fooling themselves. (And I'll put the UT Plan II program up against any of UC's for traditional Liberal Arts.)
UT is a great school. You've also got Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and TCU.
Those are all well known colleges. I really don't know what Rahm even means.
It doesn't even matter what he means, because even if Chicago produces a bunch of well-educated people, they have good cause to flee for Texas.
The Mrs. was raising the idea just this morning.
I'd just like to point out that ya'll forgot to include the highest ranked school in the state, Rice.
Go Owls.
Also SMU would be up there with those you listed.
Yes, your Rice Fighting Aronis did well enough in American Football this year to go to a bowl game, well done!
Reporter: Gov Perry is tryign to lure Illinois business to his state citing lack of regulation and low taxes as bait, how do you respond?
Rahm: ROOOADZ!!!!
OK, I live here and I'm going to have to ask for a cite for this:
wealth of well-educated residents thanks to its universities
Do we have a "wealth" of well-educated residents?
What proportion were university-educated locally?
Are either of these figures higher than other cities with universities?
NB Northwestern isn't in Chicago. You got U of C, Loyola, Depaul, UIC, and after that it goes downhill pretty fast, if it hasn't already.
I live in Chicago too. Chicago gets lots of smart people to work in their law firms and corporate head quarters. It also has unbelievable stupid people who graduated from the Chicago Public School System.
Basically, most of the smart people come from other places to fill jobs in Chicago. All the morons are home grown.
I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and went to med school at Northwestern (btw Northwestern's professional graduate schools (med, law, biz) actually are in the city of Chicago, they are on Lake Shore Drive right next to the John Hancock building).
I moved away 27 years ago. I don't recall a surfeit of highly-intelligent people as a lure to keep me from leaving. I do remember a ton of overweight people who drank a lot of beer and who way-overidentified with the professional sports teams.

Go Longhorns
Wait, what? I wasn't aware that Texas' drought had anything to do with Perry's government.
Democrats believe in government on a religious level.
In a similar manner, Emanuel would claim that the 400 murders in 2012 had nothing to do with HIS government.
Plus, even if there was a drought in Chicago, we could always just bathe in the blood of slaughtered innocents.
I wasn't aware that Texas' drought had anything to do with Perry's government.
NEED MOAR FED MONEEZ
Localized short term climate change brought on by rich white oil guys, or something.
Banning political advertisements is not a violation of human rights. Pretty much number one on the speech that needs extra protection is political speech.
When will we hick Americans understand that Europe has evolved into a, shall we say, post-liberty freedom, a worldview that realizes that one can't go about willy-nilly saying things, doing things that might upset the more passionate among us?
Once Americans embrace this they will have made a giant stride towards being equal citizens in the nation of humanity.
We should go back to "mostly free" and reap the frigging gigantic dividends.
There you go, typical American, acting like a cowboy, riding into town, getting ready to eat a giant rare steak and shoot your six-guns at the indigenous peoples in between oppressing women and POC.
Yes, that's a good point--the less we act like them, the more they can make snide remarks about us to make them feel better, all while we get richer and freer.
It always amuses me, the way Brits, in particular, go off on the way Americans deal with other countries, etc.
I so want to yell at them "We learned it by watching you!"
Funny how epically losing your empire will change your worldview.
They'll remember their love for us when they finally have to jettison the EU. Oh, and when Germany decides to reunify again with the rest of Europe.
when Germany decides to reunify again with the rest of Europe
You know, if they don't get back to their ethnic cleansing ways, I think we could work with a unified Europe.
You can't have one without the other.
Seriously, if you look into British hx in some detail, you realize that, long term, they're the super-villains of the world. Like Moriarty, they're not (usually) identified as such, but they're behind so many of the world's evils. They usually operate by setting parties against each other while they themselves slink off the stage.
Get a couple of links beyond here to read more of the ruling, and it's interesting. It seems to be based on the idea that the would-be paying advertisers had the ability to use free media to expose their content. So as long as you get a little for free, you can be kept from buying more. Hmm, try applying that to some things other than advertising.

Eurozone members, says, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, should be prepared to surrender some sovereignty as Europe seeks to regain stability.
She better make her way to the bunker.
I was wondering when the Germans would get around to conquering the rest of Europe. Whoops, I meant "foreclosing upon," not conquering.

I will repost this from the other thread because there can never be enough hatred and disdain hurled at hipsters.
We're going to go extinct soon, aren't we?
A good number of us might be. There is a comment on the piece where someone accuses the diaper industry of making us fearful of our children's wastes.
You know we joke about some people being too stupid to live...
Most children's wastes are truly fearful. I don't know how parents handle it. I guess it's different when it's your kids.
It is certainly unhealthy and dangerous. Human feces contains all kind of nasty bugs. It is more unhealthy than animal feces.
Imagine what a 1 year old puts in his or her mouth. Then imagine that being scattered around your environment at random with warm poo to fertilize it.
Mine is 10 months. I don't have to imagine what he puts in his mouth. Short version: everything.
Hopefully it is mainly anti-vaccination types that will do this so it may be a problem with it's own evolutionary solution.
AHHAAHAH the look on that kids face.
Why exactly do New Yorkers think they deserve to be taken seriously again?
For the record, these people were not born here.
Hold on there, hoss. If I used that argument, I could dismiss almost all of the Crazy Florida stories.
I don't know. Most of the ones in my neck of the woods are 3rd generation in the same trailer park.
I'm talking about the crazy stories that hit the national feed. Every state has crazy rural folk.
"Ms. Shapiro scattered little bowls around the house to catch her daughter's offerings."
That is foul! Try pulling that little stunt off in a household with dogs.
Ahhhh, its an environmentalist/reduce-diaper-trash thing. It took a while for me to read past the description of the filthy practice to get to the rub.
"Ms. Shapiro scattered little bowls around the house to catch her daughter's offerings."
And when the kid is found face-down in a bowl of urine and unresponsive...
That is a beautiful symphony of trainwrecks.
"I'm eco-friendly enough to not use pampers and too fucking lazy to use cloth. Tee hee."
Asked whether the practice was a health hazard, Jean Weinberg, a spokeswoman for the New York City health department, said: "Really, the only infectious disease problem at hand has to do with hand washing. Otherwise, it's just a general sanitation issue."
It all makes sense now. Those hobos taking dumps into storm sewers and jerking off in the recycling bins just weren't washing their hands before and after. Otherwise its all good.
Sorry, just because it's something hipsters do doesn't mean it's stupid.
This form of toilet training was the norm in many places in Asia and India I traveled to. And guess what? Their babies don't smell like shit and they don't cry all the time because they have diaper rash.
Jus' sayin'
The bowls thing is stupid, however.
"I don't think you can walk down Fifth Avenue and just let your baby poop on the sidewalk," she said
Upon reflection, I actually think it would be fucking awesome to have kids shitting all over 5th avenue. Particulary 47-59th st.
Oh it is fucking great. Those places in Asia are just perfect and don't have any public sanitation problems or anything.
What does that have to do with a woman holding a baby over a toilet and going "sss, sss, sss"?
Understand exactly what you're criticizing before getting all grumpy old man on it.
Because it is just a matter of time before they start shitting on the streets like they do in Asia. They already are coaching each other on how to get their kids to piss on the streets.
Funny, in all my time in Asia, I never saw a kid shitting in the street in the urban areas.
But hey, what's my actual experience compared to your preconceived notions.
I am told that happens in Vietnam and Thailand and rural China all of the time. Not everywhere is Singapore or Shanghai.
Do you actually read what I wrote?
In rural areas it isn't a big problem. I'll let you figure out why.
Well last I looked Park Slop wasn't exactly rural. And that is where these clowns are.
In her words:
Whatever, John. Grumps gotta grump. I'll leave you to it.
Seen it in India. Isn't common, but it happens. Is the no-diaper idea manageable? Sure, but it's inefficient, and far more prone to serious consequences, than using them.
Why do you think it's inefficient? In these cultures, the baby is often carried by the mother in a hammock-like sling close to her body all the time. Whenever the baby has to go, the mom is right there to train it.
And what are the serious consequences of not having wet shit pressed against your skin in a hot and humid climate?
If you're talking about communicable disease, well where do you think the diapers go in those countries? Right into the water table.
For what it's worth, my wife and I used a hybrid method when we were in Thailand. At home we used the "sss, sss, sss" method for our daughter, but if we were going out we put a diaper on her. She was toilet trained by 2 and 1/2. I've seen kids in America still pissing and shitting in their pants at 4 and 5.

Big deal. At the age of ten, I toilet-trained my two-year-old cousin within a week by annoying the hell out of her and asking every 5-10 minutes if she had to pee. If she said yes, off the to bathroom she went.
That article is nothing more than SWPL status-signaling. "Oh, look how progressive we are! My Asian in-laws taught me this!!" Shut the fuck up, hipster. I accomplished the same thing at the age of ten than you did at the age of 35. Jump in front of a bus and die.
Well, quite frankly, it seems like it might make toilet training easier. However, it must require a level of attention to one's child that would require that you do practically nothing else.
It does seem sort of barbaric to wrap a shitcatcher around a human child and basically tell them "let me know when you've filled that mother, OK?"
"It does seem sort of barbaric to wrap a shitcatcher around a human child and basically tell them "let me know when you've filled that mother, OK?""
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
Luke 2:7
That doesn't really go against what he said.
That kid ends up nailed to a piece of wood and left to suffocate. Sounds like a pretty barbaric time to me.
"And then didst a might Sound trumpet forth from the Child, and a Smell as of the corruption of Hell which He was sent to conquer. And all who saw the issue of the Child didst gag and retch, saying, "for truly this is a mighty Child, and he shall destroy Death itself, for never could even it smell so foul."
Reminds me of a trip to Kathmandu. In the busiest square of the capital city of Nepal, I was fairly shocked to see a four year old squatting and doing his business on the sidewalk.
No imagination is required to understand why Asians take their shoes off as soon as they enter a house. It's not just a quaint custom.
Such is inherent to a third-world country. I suppose the NYC hipsters have seen the future, and are just preparing for it.
There's a reason they call them 'third world shitholes'
there can never be enough hatred and disdain hurled at hipsters.
Fair enough.
But the young parents with the buck-ass kid? Technically those are park slope progtards.
'hipsters' are Williamsburg kids who are like, in a band and are writing a book and like, take pictures, and like don't put me in box man, do you have any blow?
Don't Williamsburg hipsters just eventually get real jobs, mate and become Park Slope progtards? Or at least some of them anyway.

Don't Williamsburg hipsters just eventually get real jobs, mate and become Park Slope progtards? Or at least some of them anyway.
I have no idea. They most likely move back to fucking Portland because, like, the Brooklyn scene was getting so over-played and sold out and the yuppies were making things so expensive...
I certainly hope they don't mate (shudder)
The park-slope set are more Yuppies who see themselves as morally superior to manhattanites because, like, they shop at a farmer's market. And Chomsky. Cloth grocery bags. Men doing hot yoga. (BLOODY BARF)
I really love New York. But I had only been to Manhattan. I have never found New Yorkers to be rude. In fact I found them to be generally more polite than Washingtonians. That was until I went to the Rolling Stones Concert at the Barclays Center. I have never seen more fucking obnoxious white people in my life than around Atlantic Yards in restaurants and bars and such. The black people were all very nice. And it wasn't the concert goers. It was the local white people who were nearly uniformly rude, arrogant assholes. I left wanting to drop a bomb on the entire place.

NEEDS MOAR STANDING IN MIDDLE OF SIDEWALK GAWKING
People think that's new? It's been going on for years. There were people who were talking about it when my daughter (now 4) was born, and they said it had been a "thing" for a while before that.
One of the stupider parenting trends ever. Though what do I know, I also think cloth diapering is silly.
I've been aware of it as a "thing" since ~ the turn of the century. Think I first heard of it in 2001.
There really is nothing wrong with it, it is just that as someone else noted, to make it work requires the kind of intense singleminded focus on your childs activities every second of the day that very few people can muster the energy for.
Many of them like the thought that they are rediscovering an ancient practice used in other cultures, though they tend to gloss over the fact that many of those cultures had never heard of Pampers.
And that many of those cultures lived OUTDOORS.
Paleo Toileting
They should toilet train their kid the way I did my dog. Don't let them in the house in the first place.
And rub their nose in it.
When the babies miss the bowl won't more trees die cleaning the shit up.
Caribou Baby, an "eco-friendly maternity, baby and lifestyle store" on the border of artsy Greenpoint and Williamsburg, has been drawing capacity crowds to its diaper-free "Meetups," where parents exchange tips like how to get a baby to urinate on the street between parked cars.
Raising a generation of bums. Words fail...
Holy, fucking shit!!
Lovely! The terrorists have won!
It's tough to let the younguns back into the wild after a life-shattering event.
That is unbelievably pathetic.
No one wants to kill your special snowflakes lady.
When I read the first sentence I figured her kids were five or six. But they are in fact teenagers. What chance do those kids have of being anything but pathetic whining pansies with a mother like that?
Yeah. 17 year olds? I'll bet they were fucking overjoyed when their classmates glued this story to their lockers.
Maybe the resulting bullying and torture will toughen them up a bit.
But what about their poor mother? WHAT WILL TOUGHEN HER UP??!!
You monster!
I have a set of cousins by my uncle who married a woman who is the basis for the Jewish Mother stereotype. And my uncle can't quite figure out why all 3 boys live at home(to be fair, one of whom is 20 and living at home while he goes to college). My kids are getting a rent due notice for their 18th birthdays.
i peruse the comments section and thought your significant other was having a baby? Also do you know if its a boy or girl? I find it hard to accept at this point you would stand by the 18 and life... er rent until that moment occurs since I'm in the same boat except with twins and have said the exact same thing and am not sure what I would do if they happened to not pay rent. Im trying to wonder if I would really kick them out. Oh ya I 1 uped ya with twins so in your face lol.

TL,DR: PIV (penis-in-vagina) sex is a traumatic, dangerous experience that is used by men to emotionally exploit women
That could be the craziest thing I've ever read.
We may have found peak retard!
What do they propose as a solution? IVF for everyone?
NO! Having a baby could KILL YOU!
Just remember, whenever you invoke peak retard, the bar gets raised. Also, Tony shows up.
I'm guessing the good news is this woman will never have children.
I only read your TL:DR take, but the beauty of it is if you have a sex-positive woman retorting that she enjoys penises they can take the position that she has been traumatized by penises into a sexual Stockholm syndrome.
I'm guessing she doesn't send Dad a card for Father's Day, seeing as how he tried to kill and disfigure her mother with his penis.
" PIV (penis-in-vagina) sex is a traumatic, dangerous experience that is used by men to emotionally exploit women"
Only if you're doing it right.
Yep, it depends on your PIV.
Darlene: You know I suffer the same temptations you do. Sometimes when I'm lyin' in bed, I ache for a man's touch... and by a man's touch, I mean a penis in my vagina.
And by "penis" you mean Dora the Explorer, yes?
A guy confides to a group about one little fetish...
How do you think men feel? Plunging what is at that time the most important part of our bodies into an unknown place where anything can happen? That's traumatic!

Rue McClanahan is still hot. Or possibly dead.
His real name is Brody.

It's like a smorgasboard of batshit crazy.
So...PIA is still on the table? But I can definitely expect some PIM?
This, however, is funnier:
Oh Aqua Buddha, I think I'm going to laugh for the next two hours.
Of course, the married guys here know that it's actually used by women to emotionally exploit men... Hope my wife's not lurking this page...
Seattle cop goes to already-controlled crime scene and allegedly assaults handcuffed man who likewise allegedly assaulted the cop's wife, who is also a cop.
Cries of double-standard from the police guild, who say the case should have been an internal matter, as opposed to a criminal one. Guild spokesman wonders aloud if a "civilian" would have been treated as harshly then says the cop's coworkers should have been able to deal with it internally.
The PD is also refusing to release the dashcam video of the incident.
The cop is charged with misdemeanor assault. His wife's alleged assailant is charged with third degree felony assault but was allowed to plea down to 4th degree assault, a gross misdemeanor.
By the way, the incident started when police officers started questioning people because they were drinking, which we've been told on here doesn't ever happen in Seattle.
Seriously, you'd think the Cop Schools would have been able to figure out a way to weed out this behavior by now. Oh wait, it's a feature not a bug. Nevermind.
that is the first tiny, tiny nick in the edifice of American security.

Cop under investigation for raping a 14 year old girl gets arrested again for sending pictures of his genitalia to an 11 year old.
Yeah, it may be time to go ahead and revoke that bail.
The sad thing is there is no shortage of mainstream publications that now describe this pervert's kiddie obsession simply as his "orientation."
What alternate universe do you reside in, and what is Superman's origin story there?
what is Superman's origin story there?
He was born a billionaire heir to a fortune made on the backs of the working class. He decided to fly to the arctic circle and turn his back on his wealth because he felt bad about his father's actions and exploitation. Once there, in his house with no electricity but amazing lighting, he was subjected to a series of videos by his mother that explained Kryptonian Male Privilege to him, which led him to go back to Metropolis and fight for equal pay for equal work.
I'm in the LV223 universe.
Superman? He landed in a Ukranian collective farm and grew up to use his powers for the good of the common worker. We call him "Red Son."
Wait, how did you survive the Crisis?
That comic was terrible. Terrible.
Bob Menendez considers this political advertising...
Soooooo, the cop should blame the court for the Citizens United ruling causing him to do this?
Corporate dollars are ruining pedophilia for everyone!
Because in Europe, human rights deal strictly with receiving money from the government. Everything outside of that is up for grabs.
Also not having to see guns, and getting abortions (but not if you're Irish).
White privilege? From the UC Irvine Secrets page, where students can anonymously vent their secrets:
#832 SPOILER ALERT: I'm about to be racist.
All I want for Christmas is to have less asian people on this campus... It's only my first year and I am already seriously considering transferring someplace else.. I am white and as I have noticed, asian people don't seem to like white people...at all. I do not enjoy feeling like a minority here whatsoever. Asians are very 'cliquei' and rude and they feel like they're the shit. I will never understand why would ANYONE ever want to be a part of asian sororities or fraternities because from what I have seen happen to my friends those organizations are extremely disrespectful and I don't see why all these pledges let themselves be degraded and harassed like that...
continued:
I've experienced this phenomenon numerous times when asian sorority girls hand out flyers specifically to asian girls and I think that's just racist.. I'm 100% positive that if I was to create a 'white interest' sorority and only accept white girls, I would be bashed by everyone about how rude and racist I am.. then what makes it okay for 'asian interest' sororities to exist?!
Just to be clear... I absolutely love this place, I love my major, I love the campus but I hate how the atmosphere is within the student body. There are too many sheltered people that are only focused on studying and playing video games..that's not what college is about!! It's about meeting new people and having fun and figuring out what you want to do in life. There has to be balance between fun and studying or you'll just be a piece of paper with test scores.. without any experience.
You can go ahead and tell me how racist I am but this is my personal opinion and I know that there are people that feel exactly the same way.
Needless to say the post was not well-received.
Did you go to UC-Irvine? If not, how do you come across a webpage like this?
Yeah, I'll be graduating in June.
I don't know about racist, but with that and the spelling "cliquei", the girl is clearly a moron.
And here I thought college was about learning useful skills that give you more opportunities in your adult life, not that the social aspect of it isn't also important.
One of my favorite memories of one of my freshmen suitemates:
I had befriended another engineering student from down the hall and we would play Halo in my suite. His roommate was a really charismatic guy studying art. After about 2 weeks everyone realized his charisma was covering up the fact that he was a douche and stopped inviting him to everything, but he was still around occasionally.
One afternoon my friend and I were playing Halo when his roommate stopped by for some reason, then went on a rant about why video games suck. He finished with "You guys are wasting your life." At this point my suitemate (who didn't even play video games) walked out of his room and says "Tyler, they both have 4.0s in engineering and are here for free. You are an art major."
Yeah the soft major guy who's having a blast is the college equivalent of the kid in high school who could run the football really well.
He's having a great time now, but wait five years...yikes. Or like people talk about poor Bob who works 60 hours a week and never takes a vacation...so that he can retire at 50 with an ample nest egg.
Business major here. You ain't kidding. I ended up as an offshore roustabout.
The last I knew he worked at some fair trade retail outlet, but he moved out of that town so I don't know what happened since.
As Virginian announced, Its truly hard to think that Bob who made $44882 last month drawing on his nest egg with a computer.
Ha--my far-left professor buddy teaches English there.
It is almost like Asians can be racist and xenophobic or something. I never would have guessed.

SILENCE GAIJIN BARBARIAN!! THE PEOPLE OF NANKING WERE WEAK AND INFERIOR!! THE HONOR OF THE EMPEROR WILL NOT BE TARNISHED BY YOUR ASPERSIONS! YOU ARE MORE SHAMEFUL THAN A HAIRY KOREAN!!
HAIRY KOREAN
I can personally attest to the fact that Koreans are universally horrified by body hair.
The kids were side-show fascinated that I had arm hair and would try to pet me while cooing ? (tuhl) a derisive word for body hair that's used similarly to fur.
The Ainu on the other hand are hairy motherfuckers.
All I want for Christmas is to have less asian people on this campus
I'll take them off your hands.
And it's "fewer", dipshit.
Unless they want them to seem or act less Asian.
If someone can act white, someone else can act less Asian, whatever that means.
"Authorities have so far found no evidence of ricin, or even of research into making ricin, at the home of the man accused of mailing poisoned letters to the president, a senator and a judge."
Wouldn't it be hilarious to find that the guy did it, but that he's a bit of a dim bulb, and had mailed "rice in a letter", and not "a ricin letter." That would certainly explain any lack of evidence and/or research.

Didn't FDR use this as a precursor to internment of Japanese-Americans?
If we can save the life of even one child...or childish president.
I was going with some soft racism but nobody called me on it.
Meh, I need to work on my delivery.
How about: If they were making arrests for "rice in a letter", every Chink in America would be in lockup.
I feel really sad for this woman, and really angry at whomever taught her this self-hating, tortured logic:
Somebody brought up Amy Biehl in relation to this, of whom I had never heard.
Been reading TumblrInAction on Reddit, have we? It's a personal favorite of mine.
Yeah. It's a riot.

White women gets raped in Haiti.
Never would have seen that coming.
She still blames white men, apparently.
Google-image her name. It has some funny results.
Well, she is still a feminist.
Oooh, look a video about the thing!

I can't get sound @ work, but I suspect this is good.
Why would they? As I said the other day, I haven't bothered getting licenses in Massachusetts for my guns either. Although, because I'm not a criminal I left them back in Vermont where people are sane about guns (if not much else). It's kind of... unexpected... how making it a hassle to legally own guns affects who ends up with guns.
Cop beats his old lady regularly. When she calls 911 and his co-workers show up, nothing is done about it and it is not forwarded to the prosecutor.
FTA: The woman said she called 911 because she was afraid Cooper would hurt her, but then hung up without talking to a dispatchers because she was afraid of what would happen if police responded, the report states.
When 911 dispatchers called back, the woman said, she told them everything was OK, but deputies responded anyway. According to the report, the woman said a team of deputies that Cooper worked with showed up to the house.
At Cooper's arraignment hearing on Wednesday, Twin Falls County Deputy Prosecutor Rosemary Emory said that charges were never filed after that 911 call.
"Apparently, because of his relationship with the sheriff's department, this was not forwarded on to the prosecutor's office," she said.
Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Lori Stewart said the office was not commenting on anything relating to the investigation, including this alleged incident.
I hope the taxpayers of Twin Falls, Idaho have a large checkbook.
Why? The police have no duty to protect us.
The opposition was voiced through the Coalition of Flight Attendants, which represents 90,000 flight attendants around the country.
"Given this week's deadly terrorist attacks in Boston, this is not the time to be relaxing homeland security rules that protect the lives of the public, airline passengers and airline crews," it said in a statement.
Because that attack was carried out on a plane by men wielding small knives, dontcha know.
The next pressure cooker bomb could be packed with those itty bitty Swiss Army knives, you fool!
FEEEEELINGS...
The part that's hard about excerpting Amanda Marcotte is knowing exactly which part of her insane scribblings is the most retarded.
How she manages to think this and that the reaction to Sandy Hook are different is completely mind blowing.
How she manages to think is completely mind blowing.
FTFY
"Flight attendants are still upset that airline passengers are again allowed to keep their Swiss Army knives with them when they board their flights. Truly, that is the first tiny, tiny nick in the edifice of American security."
Definitely, it's a slippery slope. Before you know it, you have people threatening the flight staff with pieces of fresh fruit, and even pointed sticks.
IRON ALERT!!!!!
Man arrested because people were scared because he was wearing camoflague in Philly's Independence Hall Welcome Center.
FTA: Philadelphia Police Lieutenant Joe McGarrey says they caught up with him inside a vehicle in the underground parking garage.
"The car was full of trash," he said. "So as a precaution on the safe side, we cleared it with K-9, cleared it with the bomb squad."
Nothing dangerous was found, but the man was taken into custody for questioning. No charges have been filed
Independence Hall: where the Fourth Amendment was born...and where it apparently died as well.
That's the #1 reason I'm afraid of being pulled over: McDonald's trash in the back seat. I mean to clean it up once it stops being 23? below zero in April.
Irony beat you, too. I was that guy in the MLs.
In many places in the Caribbean, the wearing of military-style camo is illegal if you're a mere civilian.
Looks like Philly is in good company.
Pardon me while I vomit now. Take him in for questioning? About what? You have to have a reasonable suspicion the person committed a crime to arrest someone. What is their articulable basis here besides "we are retarded and just like to arrest people"?
I suspect this guy is going to get a nice settlement at the expense of the Phily taxpayers.
You have to have a reasonable suspicion the person committed a crime to arrest someone.
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. Yeah, maybe in Somalia.
I didn't even get it right. It is probable cause not reasonable suspicion.
"he was wearing camoflague"
"Nothing dangerous was found, but the man was taken into custody for questioning."
This sort of thing is to be expected in a
fashion police state.
she has been traumatized by penises into a sexual Stockholm syndrome.
"I know how crazy this must sound, but honest to God, I liked it.
Seriously, it was awesome."
Teaser clip from the new 'Star Trek' movie..
Spock uses the 'needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few' line.
Data wouldn't have said stupid shit like that. As a matter of fact, Data was probably the most libertarian (main) cast member on any of the Star Trek series or movies.
Because he was cold, logical, and incapable of empathy? Your right, he was a model libertarian.
Although he managed to get laid more frequently than Picard.
He also was pretty adamant about self-ownership.
Well having a government bureaucracy assert ownership over you would turn anyone Randian.
Hasn't done that to most Americans.
We lack Data's logic.
Maybe we should just remove our emotion chips.
Or move them back to our sexual organs, where they belong.
Female genitals getting emotions will just result in even less procreation for everyone.
"He also was pretty adamant about self-ownership."
Until he euthanized his daughter, you mean.
No he didn't. They tried to save her but were unable to. And Data downloaded all of her memories to his positronic brain.
Oh that's right, he worked tirelessly to the end. But the memory thing is a little creepy if we're putting him on a human level.
Gary Mitchell was the libertarian and look what they did to him.
I hate when people quote that line. Generally, they gloss over the fact that he was inside the reactor chamber entirely of his own will, which would be awesome, were it not somewhat cheapened by the fact that he'd already saved himself by forcibly mind-raping McCoy.
How it's usually used, though, it would've been Kirk inside the chamber, being preached to by Spock about the magnanimous nature of his impending doom, after first having been forced in there at gunpoint.
That whole business hurt the scene, in my mind. When I first saw it, the Jedi mind-meld with McCoy was just a "Hey, dude, I loved you, too, in a totally non-gay way, remember me" (and played off of the "Forget" mind-meld with Kirk in the series)--now a totally wasted moment for cheap science fiction plot crap.
Yeah, generally the only way for someone to die, and for it to be meaningful, is for them to, you know, die.
I was a bit disappointed. Turned out to be a shorter version of the one before The Hobbit.
The new clip comes from the beginning of the film, when James Kirk (Chris Pine) and Bones (Karl Urban) have narrowly escaped a hostile native population on a distant planet, while Spock (Zachary Quinto) descends into the heart of a ready-to-erupt volcano.
Oh, so Abrams is now ripping off George Lucas' other good series for ideas, Indiana Jones.
I hope the movie flops, so he can focus on maybe not ruining Star Wars.
If he wants to screw around with a Lucas project he can have 'Willow'.
He's already directing the next Star Wars film, so that will have to wait.
Calm down, Hitler. Do you think Ron Howard just wished Willow was great? No...and yet it was.
As I confessed Saturday I have not actually seen Willow. No, growing up we had the VHS of The Princess Bride in our house.
I actually liked Willow well enough. Not great, but not bad.
Maybe you should give it a shot, then.
Here's one reason.
Yeah, Val did okay for himself during his glory years.
I never should have revealed my weakness.
I'm confused by this statement. I'm assuming your weakness is hot redheads?
(strikes Auric a second time)
I clicked through all of them till she turned blonde.
You don't see her freckles on screen as much. That's too bad; she looks even better with them.
Maybe they could get him to make a fourth Indiana Jones movie, right? I mean, there are only three Indiana Jones movies, right?
For me there's only two Indy movies. Why does 'Temple of Doom' get a pass when it was awful and had an equally retarded moment involving jumping from a plane in a life raft and surviving the fall?
I agree completely--I thought it sucked when I first saw it, and I've never seen it again.
You mean you didn't enjoy the racist depictions of Indians and the scenes involving human sacrifice and child torture?
But it had that comedic genius Kate Capeshaw!
Really, really bad. I can't say it's the worst one, since I didn't see the latest, but it could go down the memory hole with no harm done.
since I didn't see the latest,
How the fuck can you have never seen Last Crusade?
And FWIW, I thought Temple Of Doom was a fine movie. Sure, it lacked the Germans, but it was still fun. Data (the other one) made the movie fun.
I meant the unauthorized fourth film.
I meant the unauthorized fourth film.
Keep digging that hole deeper and deeper.
It's not my hole, as I've never seen the movie. Can you say the same?
It's not my hole, as I've never seen the movie
What movie?
Can you say the same?
How can one see what does not exist?
It's supposed to be an homage to 30's pulp fiction. It's not like Lucas pulled that out of his ass.
Dude, what the fuck? SHORT ROUND. OKEY-DOKEY DOCTA JONES
That kid was annoying as fuck. I realize this is an action/adventure flick but you'd think Spielberg would tell the kid not to shout every single line because it gets tiresome.
You try going from being a nice kid driving a car around Hong Kong to getting chased by a bunch of Thuggee that want to tear your heart out of your chest and turn you into a zombie miner, and tell me you won't be a little excitable.
I personally think the kid handled himself with grace and aplomb.
I liked it as well, Epi. These fucking politically-correct heathens don't see the subtle humor like us.
They probably liked Transformers, though. In fact, I'm sure I saw Pro Lib once say it was a "Michael Bay tour-de-force".
Hey Pro Lib, what about a Transformers crossover with Jayne fighting Decepticons?
No.
"Ah, chilled monkey brains!"
It's funny! The soup had eyeballs in it! They ate bugs!
You're right, Ken. It's like expecting some monkeys to appreciate foie gras. It's so far above them that they don't even understand the question.
What do you expect? Pro Lib thought "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" was a nature film.
Exactly, Ken. Serious once told me that Highlander is the best documentary he's ever seen.
Wait, what are you suggesting?
And quite a bold one at that, what with the events occurring in real time, and all.
Never saw that, either. Or Avatar or Titanic, for that matter.
Back to Michael Bay, I think the only ones I've ever seen was The Rock (totally sucked ass except for Connery) and The Island (mostly sucked ass).
Who else thinks ProL is lying?
You certainly know a lot about his movies. With the exception of that Playboy video he shot, I find that disturbing.
Know thy enemy, ProL. I mean, I know you, right?
Random movie related thought:
I have a couple friends who live in a house of 4 people. They are trying to work their way through the some 'Top 250 of All Time' movie list, and have a poster up on their living room wall showing who has watched which movies. I was up visiting 2 weekends ago and saw that none of the 4 have seen Pulp Fiction.
Crap, meant to say Full Metal Jacket. I think one of them had seen Pulp Fiction.
I bet none of them have seen I Spit on Your Grave either. I suggest suggesting it.
You are friends with four tasteless buffoons, Auric.
None of them understood why I couldn't believe that.
But I bet they've all seen every Spider Man movie made, right?
Do they know your opinions on butt sex? If so, they may assume you're wrong about everything.
You know who else recently spoke out against butt sex?
Banjos.
I'm sorry to hear that sloop. Was the strapon harness cutting into her thighs or something?
Really, she never said anything to me.
Oh snap! That's your wife, son.
You're banging your kid's wife? What a dick.
And the sad thing is that she was sitting here ready to make a witty response but butchered it by not being able to find the subthread on my iPad.
Why would I feel the need to tell my friends that poop is gross?
I always mentally translate that line into "the needs of me outweigh the needs of you" and it's usually more accurate.
Also, you may think that guy who dropped the words "Fucking Shit" on a North Dakota news program is an idiot. On the other hand, he's probably already found gainful employment NOT in North Dakota. Who's the idiot now?
He should go work for one of those oil outfits and live in a dumpster while making six figures.

Observation of particular interest:
The total number of American STEM graduates today is almost the same number as graduated 25 years ago, while non-STEM majors have exploded.

good article. always like his education arguments. I just stick the the Peter Thiel line about the plumber making as much as the Dr when factoring school debt, delayed earnings, progressive tax code.
Psychology of hating food and how we learn to love it.
Sorry, but I'll hate cooked carrots and Mayo until my dying day!
We're like long lost brothers.
That does sound like a gross combination.
For me it's pickles and mustard I don't like.

'Cinnamon Challenge' goes viral on YouTube, may cause lung damage.
A decades-old stunt in which thrill-seeking teens swallow a tablespoon of dry cinnamon with no water, gag and spew out a cloud of orange dust went viral in 2012, resulting in more than 50,000 YouTube video clips of young people attempting the so-called "cinnamon challenge."
Although the immediate physical effects -- coughing, choking and burning of the mouth, nose, and throat -- are temporary in most cases, attempts to swallow a large quantity of the dry spice may result in "long-lasting lesions, scarring and inflammation of the airway" or even lung damage, says a new research paper examining the dare.
Why is everyone so stupid?
We used to do the gallon challenge: drink a gallon of milk in an hour.
It cannot be done.
I think they tried it in one of the Jackass movies. A chick won. Can't remember if she actually drank the whole thing or not.
It can be done, just not without vomiting. The best part about the professional worrying over this is that you can't ban cinnamon.
See...you say that..
Yes, it can.
I can do the saltine challenge (6), and have actually done 10 crackers in a minute once.
Of course, I ate a bowl of mayonnaise once on a bet, but you all already knew that.
I did it last year. But I was not stupid enough to gasp for air in while the stuff was in my mouth.
Seems like the smartest way to do it would be to take a big breath and hold it beforehand so that any reaction of shock would cause you to blow outward rather than inhale.
'Cinnamon Challenge'
It's really funny when police officers get a mentally retarded person to do it.
Goddamn, dude, you're like a nut-punch savant.
went to Haiti after the earthquake to empower Haitians to self-sufficiency.

Bob Cesca: Your Opinion Doesn't Matter Because the Senate Has Been Assimilated By the Borg NRA.
If Dzhokhar Tsarnaev had somehow managed to evade capture and had traveled to a gun show in, say, neighboring Vermont, New Hampshire or Maine, he would've been able to easily purchase one or more military-style assault weapons without a background check thanks in part to the efforts of senators like Lindsey Graham, who voted to filibuster the Toomey/Manchin amendment by order of the extremists at the National Rifle Association last week. You know, because of the Constitution.
Yes, because of the Constitution disphit, you know, 'SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED'.
Lindesy Graham is my senator now? When did that happen?
Leftists have become so delusional that it's almost funny.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev could "easily purchase" a firearm at a "gun show".
Ridiculous. Maybe last month, but not last week. I imagine that he'd have been forcibly detained before he took ten paces in the gun show.
That^^, and the fact that Dumbo-ears and Dumboer have managed to sell just about every 'assault weapon' in the country.
When I bought my AR at a gun show a few years back, I originally wanted a CETME. But the people selling it were not from VA, so they called it an "assault weapon" and refused to sell it to me because I was under 21. I told them that was not the law in VA, but they didn't belive me. So I went and got an AR from someone else. Their loss.
Yeah man. Vermont is a war zone because of its gun laws.
New England hicks are the most violent hicks of all.
Hey, I am doing my best to hurt you, but I keep just having to buy new monitors instead.
Why don't you just go back to your demilitarized zone at Smuggler's Notch.
I can't go back there, man. I've... seen... things. Those fucking southerners think they have the best mountain. Jay Peak is the true mountain of freedom.
And also killing Canadians.
You think they tap those maple trees? Hell no, the sap oozes from all the bullet holes?
You think that's sap?
Is it the tears of Gaia from the murd-industrial complex wreaking havoc on innocent children?
It's tree semen.
Dammit!
Wait, I thought the trees were the ones being raped?
That's pollen. Allergies bugging you in spring? It's because you're living a life of constant arboreal bukkake.
This made me laugh so hard, I almost shit myself.
Thank you, Sir!
It's almost the least I could do.
Why do you think you never hear any news out of Vermont? Veteran war journalists are afraid to wade into that sea of blood.
That flooding from Irene wasn't from the rain. It was the blood from the post-rain rioting.
Germany to institute quotas for women in business.
That is fucking stupid
Didnt RTFA, but does it specify types of positions? I could easily get this by just hiring secretaries and janitors and making them exclusively female. Then say "well, I met the quota on my payroll!"
Board of Directors
Chancellor Angela Merkel on Thursday found herself forced to give in to a rebellious bloc in her own party who insisted that Germany's leading companies be compelled to increase the number of women on their boards.
does it specify types of positions?

which is why laws like this are necessary.

I have not seen RC Dean lately. I suspect he is still working hard on the SMU/Dallas opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Liberry.
I wish him well in his endeavors.
Hasn't he changed a job recently? Perhaps he has much less time to post now.
I believe Sugarfree grew tired of writing as that character.
If only our resident scumbag had a real job instead of writing dreck for Slate, maybe he'd be scarce around here too.
Bob Cesca: Your Opinion Doesn't Matter Because the Senate Has Been Assimilated By the Borg NRA.
Yeah. Why can't you just blindly obey Mike Bloomberg, like a sensible free thinking adult?
Wall Street Journal columnist doubts Giffords actually wrote her emotional outcry against the Senate and NRA in last week's New York Times.
She probably did not write it. Who cares? She caught a bullet in the brain.
Fuck you, WSJ.
"Classical liberals" are totally cool with appeals to emotion being used to advance gun control laws.
What difference, at this point, does it make?
None.
You seriously see no problem with using Gabrielle Giffords name to give an article more credibility than it deserves?
"She probably did not write it. Who cares? She caught a bullet in the brain.
Fuck you, WSJ."
This can't be serious, can it?
Getting shot doesn't make your actions any more moral, nor does it give you more leeway in your behavior.
Especially when you're advocating taking people's rights away.
If she doesn't have the mental ability to write that piece of shit published under her name (which seemed like it was written at a 5th grade level) then maybe she shouldn't be proposing legislation that'll effect 100 million citizens.
Getting shot makes you beyond criticism. /Buttplug
I stubbed my toe one time, can I put buttplug in a concentration camp?
She caught a bullet in the brain.
She wasn't the first person. Strangely, we generally don't look to the mentally handicapped for legal or moral guidance.
They have a point about it probably be pre-written based on the likely outcome. I'm sure the prez's tantrum speech was.
However, saying that getting shot in the head does not make you an expert in violent crime is not a "personal attack", as they claim at the end of the post.
Yay for an internet sales tax!
But most Americans like smooth roads and safe streets. And outside a few royal blue states these days, income taxes are anathema to most voters. Practically speaking, there just isn't much upside to letting the web cut a growing hunk out of state budgets each year. Nor is there a good reason to give online retailers a baked-in price advantage over businesses that operate and employ people locally.
Roadz and fairness!
Light the Tulpa signal!
I buy all my gas tax-free via the internet.
That's a great idea. Is Amazon on that, yet?
Nice.
Christ, is it too much to ask for them to do some basic fucking research before they advocate stealing more money from the productive?
businesses that operate and employ people locally
Zappos, Amazon and UPS* all employ a bunch of people local to me.
*I know they arent an online retailer, but online sales drives a lot of their business.
Does UPS have any business outside delivering internet purchases? Not much anymore, I'd guess.
Linked from a feminist site with much rejoicing.
A few of these are kinda violent.
No wonder they think nobody can be trusted with guns if they would murder a guy for talking to them.
Yeah that was a high level of crazy. Also, I'm gonna say half of the writers/illustrators don't actually get catcalls.
Although the lesbian chick including mr. "self-righteous progressive fart smeller" in with the bigots and assholes was a nice touch.
From where was it linked?

I am not being flippant at all when I say that the authors of most of those comics are in serious need of mental help. Being strong is one thing, but misandry of the degree seen there indicates past trauma far in excess of anything like the scenarios being depicted.
You mean if I drew a comic where I used a revolver to blow the head off a girl who rejected me in a bar, that people wouldn't applaud me for exposing my raw, authentic emotions to the world?
I almost wonder if you don't risk arrest, just for writing down that hypothetical.
Don't be silly! As a non-White guy, I couldn't possibly be a sociopathic serial killer. Salon told me so.
A few of these are kinda violent.
by Mike Tirehaus.
I've actually had number 11 happen to me. A burly latino guy leaned out of his windowless van to yell "Hey there honcho, how's it goin'?" It was confusing...
Did you shoot him in the face, like he deserved?
Did you shoot him in the face, like he deserved?
Haha, please think about the many ways that could be interpreted, particularly keeping in mind my Axis of Ho member status.
But no, I just stood there feeling befuddled. Afterward it was a funny story. I could definitely see it getting old real fast though.
As I was writing it, that was my exact thought.
It's jesse. Of course he blasted that guy in the face.
Shit, I got turned around in a bar crawl on the Saturday before Halloween and ended up in Montrose (I was super drunk, and I have no sense of direction). On my way back to Midtown, I got catcalled more than a chick in a miniskirt walking by a prison.
But I only get chicks catcalling me when I'm entering or exiting the Caddy.
How dare Glen Reynolds call out Gabby Giffords for emotional logic-less arguments.
Just because she part of her brains got blown out, does not mean we have to pretend that ours did as well when she speaks.
Funny, since Marcotte is an asshole who once bullied a teenage kid for having the gall to make a funny video asking Kate Upton out.
Not to mention what she wanted to do to the Duke lacrosse team.
I think you mean what you wanted the Duke lacrosse team to do to her.
She's so full of self-loathing she'd probably enjoy that.
Holy shit. I can't go any further, but I don't think this is even a strawman, it seems to be a stroke:
So Amanda Marcotte is a miserable psychopath who hates herself and pushes her self-loathing onto others.
News at 11.
My favorite part of that is the fact that it's fucking Glenn Reynolds. Glenn Reynolds is the least offensive human being in the universe. He's a dorky, 50 year old law professor who geeks out over science fiction and writes academic papers about due process.
The dude delivered a keynote address at Harvard Law School. I'm sure he's really upset about Amanda Marcotte churning out her pseudo-intellectual spew while surrounded by her cats.
Here watch this video of anti-Marcotte to clean yer brain.
I like her. And all it took for her to renounce feminism was having a son. The online feminists fucking hate her now.
I never knew who she was until I saw her interviewed by Stefan Molyneaux.
Which is weird because Stefan never talks about gender issues.
His videos are really good, he's an anarchist and all his videos are arguing against the state with philosophy, ethics and history. He sounds like terrence and phillip from south park.

I knew if I was lazy enough someone would find the link to point this out for me.
I told someone the other day that libertarian comment sections are great for lazy internet users.
If you're unsure about something just make a bold assertion about that topic and a libertarian will come along with all kinds of links if you're in the least bit wrong. Free research!
Emma Stone is the hottest redhead (despite being a natural blonde) pictured eating deep dish.
Wait, she's not a natural redhead? I thought the blonde thing was a fake hair color!
Dammit, my life is ruined.
Don't worry, there's always Laura Prepon.
What's the point? I don't know what to believe anymore.
There's always a point.
Whatever. Based on recent events, I assume that she's actually bald and that's just a wig.
The blonde is fake, cause she bleached it back to blonde.
Is Riley Rebel a natural redhead? No carpet to see if it matches the curtains.
Yes, but my link to the article has a horrible pun, and is therefore obviously superior to the original link and its dry recounting of the story.
You had over an hour and that's the pun you settled on?
How about:
Here lies the Fourth Amendment
Born: Philadelphia, 1787
Died: Philadelphia, 2013
That's not a pun.
How about: "Man tries to blend in."
1. That's not a pun
2. The fourth amendment wasn't written until 1789
3. At the time, congress was located in Federal Hall, New York City
Happy Earth Day!

What this board needs are some weapons of mass distraction.
(SFW, sad to say.)
I'm pretty sure we already have those, in the form of my dating stories.
Weapons of Mass Distortion
The best way to get rid of Weapons Of Mass Destruction is to drop some Bombs Over Baghdad.
Sounds liek a pretty serious plan to me dude.

I don't know the truth of the claims in this NPR article on Rand Paul, but I just know I was pissed off by the time I finished reading it. http://www.npr.org/blogs/itsal.....ads-legacy
Serious question: I was thinking of getting Banjos an SUV or minivan since it looks like we're just gonna keep popping kids out about one every 11 months. I was wondering if any of you had done a CNG conversion and/or set up a dual fuel system with a CNG tank and a regular gas tank as well. I know we're gonna lose some storage space and probably a rear seat if we do the SUV, but what are your thoughts?
(If I have my way, I'll buy a 10 y/o Toyota Land Cruiser from a buddy cheap and retrofit a CNG system and set it up for dual-fuel for another $1500 or so.
No, quit having kids and get a pick up truck. Only fags love being surrounded by kids.
Christ.
I already drive a pickup truck.
And you drive around thinking, "Wouldn't it be great if this was a minivan and there were snot-covered babies screaming and flinging shit at the back of my head!"
No, I drive around in it thinking, "it would be nice to buy Banjos a large vehicle so the kids can really get a good windup before they throw shit around in it."
Seriously, though, I love kids, man. Banjos wants to have at least 5.
You should sell kid offset credits for those of us that hate them and don't want any, so that we can't be accused of being selfish.
I think he should actually be buying kid credits from you, after he uses up the 2 he and banjos are granted. Don't you know how kap and trade works?
Well, I was going to offer to trade one of my no-kid offsets that he can use with zero population growth types for one of his kid offsets that I can use with my parents.
We can tie kid credits into my latest idea for a social service/business
Maybe top contributors can get all remaining kid credit for the people who's snipping they paid for.
jesse, are you really Bob Barker?
I wish someone on here other than me would be smart enough to say "Fucker's setting up franchises" about me.
Alas!
Only fags love being surrounded by kids.
Not ALL of us are Catholic priests GBN.
I said around not in. Get your prepositions right.
Can you name the truck with four wheel drive,
smells like a steak and seats thirty-five..
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Well, it goes real slow with the hammer down,
It's the country-fried truck endorsed by a clown!

The Federal Highway comission has ruled the

Canyonero!-oh woah, Canyonero! (Yah!)
Drive Canyonero!
Woah Canyonero!
Woah!
You know, there's really no extra seating room in SUVs and vans than in regular cars (unless you get the big 3-rows), there is just more headroom and the seating and vehicle are higher off the ground.
The only reason women like SUVs and vans is they don't have to bend over to get their kids out of the back seats. When they bend over, their asses stick up high in the air for all to see and they don't like that one bit. With the high SUV/van seats, their asses stay linear and covered by their outfits.
Facism by the numbers.

Has anyone pointed out that the Swiss army knife in the photo is too large to carry on under the new regulations? 6cm is a very small blade. A full size Swiss army knife blade is at least an inch too long.
